"I like you too." Those four words, eight  letters, and fourteen characters... they meant all the world to him. They rang in his ears, its resonance filling up the sonance of silence in his heart. Will wasn't lying; Nico knew him well enough to tell when he was being sincere, and Will was sure as Tartarus being honest.

"Then why didn't you tell me before," he asked, realising how stupid that question was as soon as he said that. "Oh yeah. I... sorry."

"Not everyone in this camp is homophobic, you know?"

"How do I know who to trust?" Nico didn't mean for it to come out as a whisper, but it did. Very much against his will. (heh. will, Will...)

"You can make more friends, for starters. And you can trust everyone in the Apollo cabin for sure. If any of them had any harsh words to say to you, they definitely aren't going to say it to your face. Let's just say that Kayla had to put up with lots of hate when she first came to camp. She has a biological father on both the immortal side and the mortal side." Nico nodded in understanding. "Malcolm and Mitchell have had something or another going on for the past few months; Malcolm's gay, and Mitchell, well, no one actually knows."

"What are you," Nico questioned.

"Me? I'm bi."

An awkward silence hangs in the air for a while after that.

Nico realises there are tears silently steaming down his face. Will notices this and wipes a tear off Nico's face, and the crying demigods lets him. Soon they both are crying, and they stay in this position for a long, long time.

<Time Skip into the Future>

di Angelo (should the "d" of di Angelo be capitalises?) checks the time on his watch. "I-It's getting late. We should head back to the pavilion now," the son of Hades suggests. They starting walking, Nico kicking stones along his way. Will pulled Nico towards him, and for once, Nico didn't pull back.

They reached the dining pavilion just in time for breakfast. The two demigods lovers sat apart from each other like always, and didn't get the opportunity to talk until after the sing-along.

In Nico's opinion, the wait was worth it. The normally sorrowful boy felt happier than he ever had at Camp Half-Blood. They were both laying in the grass near the canoe lake, breaking curfew and gazing up into the setting sun.

"Hey Nico. So are we officially dating now or...."

"We're not dating. I don't agree with that term. We're more than that. And different too. We're just... together."

"Can I call you my boyfriend then," Will asked rather eagerly.

"No," snapped Nico. "No, you may not. Patient's orders."

"Oh yes. We most definitely are, Neeks. We most definitely are."

Nico turned over onto his stomach, and gestured for Will to do the same. Nico raised his lips to Will's, and pressed hard. Will kissed back, and they were at this for quite a while, until they could no longer see the remnants of the sun. They then headed back to their respective cabins, holding hands all the way until they reached Nico's cabin. Will leaned down and gave Nico a quick kiss on the cheek.

For the first time in years, Nico fell asleep with a grin on his face.
