James POV

I watch Melody as she heads inside her house. I've only heard about this house, the territory lines are strong and there have been rumors how a non-werewolf magical creature owns this land. I head back to my own territory already missing her. I can't tell if she is just human since something is off. She probably has absolutely no idea what a mate even is. She'll have a lot to learn if she doesn't reject me. She'll have to be Luna and learn all about packs but I can already tell she would be perfect.

Jackson comes up to me confused, "What was that all about?" he asked knowing I was not very nice to trespassers.

I smile brightly try just at the thought of Melody, "She's my mate," I say to my best friend.

"Really a human?" He responds surprised, "either way it took you long enough to find your mate!" He congratulates me.

"Yeah I finally did and the pack finally has their Luna," I say with a small smile.

We head back to the pack house and I check my phone to see a text from an unknown number. I unlock my phone only to smile brightly at the text.

"Hey it's Melody," it reads I quickly reply with a simple hi and what's up. She replies quickly telling me about how she's just making sure she has everything she needs for school. I reassure her she'll be okay at school since she's clearly nervous. Even without the mated version of the mate bond I was still drawn to this girl, a human girl, I think as it hits me. I'm mates to a damn human! I'll have to eventually turn her so she can be a full Luna since the council doesn't like having humans know about werewolves it can just be too risky. I'll have to keep a huge part of my life secret from her. I sigh and head to my office to deal with Alpha stuff before getting ready for school and seeing if my parents would have any advice about what I should do about Melody. My pack, the Misty Willow pack, is pretty high up in power so, me having a human mate can be a big deal. I try to get through my paperwork but it was hard since the only thing on my mind is Melody with her perfect blonde hair and blue eyes and those glasses that look absolutely adorable on her. I check my phone again to only see a text from her about how she has to go and can't talk. I frown at the text and put my phone down for such a great girl she doesn't seem like the talkative type. I could tell she was hiding things from me mainly about where she's from I only got broad answers when I asked her about personal things. I get up and decide to go get some breakfast to take my mind off of things before I have to go to school.
