POV Lisa
Together with Lauren, I walk out of her room. We walk downstairs. "Do you want to go outside?", I ask her. Lauren nods and we walk to the backyard. There we go sit on a bench. I look around us to make sure nobody can listen. We are from a safe distance from our parent's house. So that wouldn't be a problem.
"Is there a problem?", Lauren asks me. I look at her. Is there a problem? Yeah, there is. "Yes. James wants me to record a lot this week and-", I want to say but Lauren cuts me off. "But can you film the video tomorrow?", she asks me in panic.
"Yes. I can. But I can't edit the video like I normally do", I tell her. I don't have time. I can go to the band meetings this week because James plans around that. But he said I had to stop editing the videos. Because that is stopping my career.
I really want my own career.
But it feels so bad. That I'm betraying them. I'm betraying them all.
"I can edit the video?", Lauren suggests me. She can edit the video... But that isn't fair. Lauren is already doing so much for me. Maybe even too much. "Lauren... You're already doing so much for me. You shouldn't do that", I say trying to let her change her mind. On the other hand, it's pretty handy if she did that.
"No, I don't mind! And if that means you're making your dream come true, I'm happy to help you", she says. I look at her. Why is Lauren so sweet?
She is too good for this world.
"Thank you, Lauren! You're the best!", I say excited while hugging her. When I let go of her she smiles at me. Together we link our arms together and we walk inside. There we see a sight that isn't that good.
"What are you hiding Amy! What did you do! What do you know!", Katherine screams angry. She is trying to run away but Amy is trying to stop her. Dani is looking from upstairs. She also looks shocked.
"Please, Katherine! Just listen! I didn't mean t-", she tries to say but Katherine cuts her off. You can see the angry in Katherine her eyes. And the sadness and guiltiness in Amy her eyes. "What. Do. You. Know", Katherine demands her to tell.
What does Amy know?
Not another secret...
"I read your diary", Amy says looking at the ground. Did she read Katherine her diary? Oh no. Katherine is getting so mad. Is the thing that I'm thinking. But it doesn't look like that.
"You read my diary?", she asks Amy. In her eyes, you can see that she feels betrayed. And I understand her. You don't read someone's diary. That is the place for secrets.
"Yes. I'm sorry, I just- I knew things and I wanted more. And I shouldn't ha-", she tries to say but she starts sobbing. Katherine just watches. Lauren walks to Amy and gives her a hug.
"Did you know about this?", Katherine asks Lauren. Lauren shakes her head. "Why are you standing at her side?", Katherine asks again. Lauren gets pale. She doesn't want to get into a fight.
"I-I'm on no one's side", she says afraid. Amy clings into Lauren sobbing harder. She knows that there is starting a bigger fight because of her.
I really don't know anymore. I want to be mad at Amy but at the same time, I just want to hug her.
Everyone is doing things they shouldn't do. Amy is keeping secrets from other persons. Katherine is... I don't even know what she is doing. Lauren is keeping my secret. Dani is grounded for some reason and Christina is pregnant.
We're all wrong.
"I'm done", Katherine says. Is she done? With what? I look at Dani. Dani has red eyes. She was also crying. What is happening?
"You're all lying. All of you guys!", Katherine screams the last part. She knows. She knows that we are lying. Then she suddenly turns to me.
"Why are you so in yourself lately?! You're always on your phone during meetings and I can see that you don't enjoy the band anymore! WHY?!", she screams angry. I look shocked at her. What's going on? Before I can react she turns to Dani, who is standing upstairs.
"And you! Why are you grounded?! Why can't you just tell?!", she screams angry at Dani. Dani is also looking shocked. She doesn't answer. Just like me. Katherine turns then to Amy and Lauren. She points her finger to Lauren.
"I know that you're fighting with Dani! Or at least you were! Why couldn't you tell us?!", She screams at Lauren. I see tears starting to show up in her eyes. I already have tears streaming down my cheeks. Katherine is saying hurtful things. But it's true. It's so true.
"And Amy! You know so much! But you're saying so little!", she screams angry. Then the unthinkable happens. Katherine falls down to her knees. And she starts sobbing. Tears streaming down her cheeks. And we all look at her.
No one dares to move for a few minutes.
Before I walk to her. I want to hug her. "No! Go away!", Katherine screams and she pushes me away. We were all so busy with our secrets that we didn't notice that there was someone who was noticing everything.
Katherine noticed it. She saw us changing. She saw us lying to her. And we were slowly breaking her. Piece by piece. And no one saw it. But she saw everything.
Slowly I sit down on the floor. Katherine is sobbing on the floor. Lauren and Amy are also sitting on the floor while Amy is hugging Lauren and Dani slowly walks downstairs. She goes to sit next to Amy and Lauren and she also starts hugging Lauren.
They are all crying.
I'm crying.
