So for me I chose Shay Mitchell for Vanessa. She's so beautiful and I like her for this part. Also since PLL is over now I had to dedicate something to my favorite liar. She may not be what you image when you read about Vanessa but it's ok, you can imagine whoever you want.

Song for this chapter: "Stronger" by Kanye West, "Not Today" by BTS, the Star Wars theme song, and "Mother Knows Best" from Tangled.

Vanessa POV.

I really hate the dark.
The feelings of loneliness and uncertainty surrounding me are almost suffocating.

I'm crouching behind the couch worrying about the creaky wooden floors that could easily give up my hiding place. All of sudden, I sense movement in the dark space in front of me and an all to familiar stream of  light appears.
Shit, I thought. He found me.

"You might as well give up Vanessa, I know where you are. There's no chance you can win." The eerie voice echoed throughout the house as I sat there still crouched behind the couch to figure out my next move.

"You'll never catch me alive!" I yelled. I have no idea why I did that. Why must I be so stupid?

"Wanna bet?"
"Yeah I do." I whispered. A few seconds later, I jump from behind the couch and let out a battle cry before going into attack mode with my light saber.

"You think that wi—" Before he can even finish and use his light saber, I lunge towards him with mine in hand and started whacking him like a piñata.

"I will never join the dark side! You can take your burnt ass face and your aimless storm troopers and  leave!" The intruder finally reacted and the both of us were fighting aggressively around the room, knocking into things and pushing things over.

He stood up on the couch and with his best Darth Vader voice he said, "You will join me or I will use the Force!" I laughed and he continued. "Storm troopers! Attack!"

All of a sudden a bunch of little storm troopers started coming out of the closet with Nerf guns.

"You will never catch me, Princess Leia is depending on me!" I yelled.

"Either you come with me or say good bye to your hairy pet!" No! Not Chewbacca!

"We'll see about that! AAAAAAAAAAHHH—"

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!" All of a sudden the light switched on right when I was about to attack the Evil Lord and everyone immediately froze. A very angry mother stood there with a murderous glare and her arms crossed as my little brother, Luke, hid behind her still wearing his storm trooper outfit. At this point in time, I think everyone was either shitting themselves or about to get the fuck out. No one goes against my mother, especially when she's angry. Hell, even Darth Vader would cower away. The woman is terrifying.

"I leave this forsaken house for 10 freaking minutes and the place is nearly destroyed." I looked around the room once she finished and realized that she was right. The place was trashed: books on the floor, one of the tables was flipped over, a broken lamp, and somehow the couch was pushed halfway across the room.

"Sorry mom?" I tried to say.

"Sorry nothing. You are the responsible one here so you know better!" I can tell my mother was trying her best not to explode especially in front of the other little kids. Luke pulled on her skirt from behind and said, "But mom, we wanted to play Star Wars for my birthday party." Mom frowned and said, "Well honey you know the rules, no playing with light sabers and Nerf guns in the house."
"But mom!" Luke whined.
"Sorry Luke, but I'm not your father." I snickered at the irony and immediately received a warning glance from my mother. "Look," she continued, "Now is not the time for this. I want everyone to clean up this mess. Caleb! Vanessa! Kitchen! NOW!" The second she turned around, everyone went to work; Luke and his friends started picking up the living room while Caleb and I went to meet my mom in the kitchen. Before we went, we looked at each other. Sometimes I wished those twin abilities where you can read each other's minds and etc. were real. But even without them we knew this what was going to happen.
