A Summer to Remember

A Misunderstanding

Amelia's POV

We decided to watch a few movies after Kayla came out of her room. But before we started the movie, we made popcorn. We weren't sure what to watch, but then we decided to watch The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. It was 8:15 when we started the movie...but it was now 10 and the 1st movie was almost over.

Kayla's POV

After I calmed down about Austin,we decided to watch some movies. By the time the first one was over, Amelia was laying on Derek's shoulder with Derek's arm around her. Ruby was laying in the recliner and I was laying on the couch. It was now 1:00, and Amelia had fallen asleep with her arm and head on Derek's shoulder. By the time the movie was over, both Amelia and Derek were asleep. "I still can't believe it ends like that!" Ruby said. "Shh they're sleeping!"  I said. "Aww they look so cute!" Ruby said. "Is know right! Well come on let's go to sleep!" I said. "Okay...hey, just sleep in Amelia's bed since she's out here," Ruby said. "Okay!" I responded while walking in their room. We then turned of the lights and got in bed. "They're the perfect couple!" Ruby said while smiling. "Yah, they are pretty cute together!" I said. "So are we're going to the beach tomorrow right?" Ruby asked. "Yep! Well goodnight," I said. "Goodnight," Ruby said.

Derek's POV

When I woke up, it was like 3:50 in the morning. I noticed Amelia sleeping on my shoulder, she looked so cute when she was sleeping. Before going back to sleep, I kissed her on the forehead and she woke up..."hey," She said sleepily then kissed me. I kissed her back, and again and again.

Ruby's POV

I woke up around 4 in the morning and was thirsty, so I decided to go get some water. The first thing I saw when I walked out the bedroom was Amelia and Derek making out on the couch. Omg! I ran back to my room... What were they doing? I thought to myself. "Kayla, wake up!" I whispered. "What?" Kayla mumbled. "I just went out to get some water and Amelia and Derek were making out...and...it kinda looked like they were-" I said. "No...Amelia wouldn't do that.." Kayla said. "Well it kinda looked like it!" I said.

Amelia's POV

As soon as I woke up, I realized that I must've fallen asleep during the movies because I was laying against Derek. "Hey," I said sleepily. Before I knew it we were kissing, not just kissing, but making out. I swear I thought I heard the bedroom door open but I didn't bother to stop just to see if someone was there. I then pushed him away and said," Hey, what if someone sees us?" "We're just kissing," He said. "True...but still...let's go back to sleep," I said. "Okay," He responded.

It was now 10:00 when I woke up again. I then got up to see if Kayla and Ruby were up...which they were. "Hey Amelia! Wanna grab some lunch on the way to the beach?" Ruby asked. "Sure!I'll go tell Derek," I said. "Hey, we'll grab some lunch on the way to the beach, that cool?" I asked. "Yah sounds good!" Derek said. "Okay I'm gonna go change," I said.

"Y'all ready?" Ruby asked while her and Kayla came out of the room. "Yep!" I said. Derek's phone started to ring just before we were about to leave, "Hey I gotta take this..I'll just meet y'all at Domino's," Derek said. "Okay, see ya in alittle," I said while walking out the door.

Ruby's POV

"Soo...Amelia..you and Derek.." I said. "What about me and Derek?" Amelia said. "What were y'all doing last night?" Kayla asked. "Oh did u come out during the night?" Amelia asked. "Yah...I did.." I said. "Well...what were y'all doing?" Kayla asked. "Just kissing..." Amelia said. Amelia then leaned over and hit me..."I told u she wouldn't do that!" Kayla said. "Woah! you thought I was...I wouldn't do that! Especially on the couch!" Amelia said. "Well it looked like it...what was I supposed to think!" Ruby said. "Uh, maybe that I wouldn't do that!" Amelia said. "Well sorry...we'll atleast now I know!" I said. We then got to Domino's and ordered the pizza. Right as we were about to sit down, Derek walked in. "Hey! Who were u on the phone with?" Amelia asked. "Uh...just my boss," Derek said before sitting down. "Oh okay," Amelia said. After we ate we then headed to the beach.

Kayla's POV

Once we got to the beach, Amelia wanted to play volleyball. When we got to the court, we saw Ethan. "Hey Ruby!" Ethan said. "Hey!Can we play with y'all?" Ruby asked. "Yah of course!" Ethan replied. We then played for awhile then we were ready to go when I heard Austin's voice. "Kayla! Please talk to me!" Austin said. I stopped walking and just looked at him. "Please tell me what's wrong," Austin said. "It really doesn't matter, what matters is that we're done," I said. "What,why?Please tell me what's wrong!" Austin said. I turned around and finally said it. "I saw you kissing Stacy," I said with tears in my eyes. "Oh,Kayla...I didn't kiss her, she kissed me," Austin said. I just looked at him. "And u said that u loved me, but that obviously was a lie," I said. "No, Kayla, I do love you...I really do! It was just a misunderstanding, Stacy means nothing to me! I love you, no one else!Your different then every other girl..your the one I really love! Your amazing, nice, funny, pretty, shall I go on?" Austin said while smiling. By saying that, he made me laugh...and it was also really sweet. I just smiled at him. "Okay," I said quietly. "So you forgive me?" He asked. "You sure she means nothing to you?" I said. "Yes! Kayla, I love you," Austin said. "I love you too," I said while giving him a hug.
