The next two weeks were busy for me and the gang. Firstly, Dave and Michael's 10th anniversary party was coming up and both of them have assigned the responsibility to decorate and plan the party hall and schedule to our group. The party was going to take place in the park, next to the lake.

Reluctantly, I had to call my art club, which included jack, to decorate the party hall. Alexander, Ty, Dave, and Michael were in charge of moving the furniture in the right places which included the tables, chairs, small podium and electric utilities for the music and whatnot.

Jessica was the one who double checked and sent the invites, calling people to confirm if they're coming since the party is taking place in two days.

I have been calling my brother Eros, double checking his flight details so that we can surprise dad with his arrival. I was the most excited to see Eros. And he was bringing his now fiancé Karen.

The awkward tension between Jack and I was absolutely shocking. It was uncomfortable standing next to him, talking to him or even thinking about him. I know I mentioned to him that my feelings for him were gone but, I can't help but feel confused.

Jack and I were currently throwing blue and silver glitter on the small patch of ground we were covering because Dave wanted the party to "shine bright like a diamond" at night. Jack was unwilling to throw glitter on his own and instead was stuck next to me.

"Sky. Please talk to me. I know pranking you like that was childish and immature but you should understand how sorry I am." He pleaded.

I shook my head and refused to look at him, afraid I might melt if I look into his beautiful chocolate eyes. "Not only was it childish, but also cruel. Don't you realize how wrong it is to play with someone's feelings?" I said.

"I didn't know you felt that way, Sky-"

"For fuck's sake, well you should've. You must be really dumb if you thought me falling all the time, or saying the most ludicrous things and stuttering was a completely natural behavior. I fell three times, jack. Not once, but three times. Who does that?" I exclaimed.

"Sky, let me explain. I am-" he was interrupted when something rustled behind me.

"Hey guys. Jack, is it?" Alexander's voice boomed from behind. He was awfully bright and cheery for today.

Jack furrowed his eyes when he looked at him. "Wait, you're Alex, the captain of the football team."

"The one and only." He smiled wickedly.

I involuntarily smiled and shook my head in amusement. I threw more glitter on the ground.

"No." Jack said, all of a sudden angry. "You're the one who broke Meghan's heart. The one who dumped her."

His eyes widened and he let out a loud bark of laughter in disbelief. "Oh yeah." He said, laughing. "You're dating the crazy chick."

"Excuse me?"

Oh boy.

Alexander snorted. "Dude, you're screwed."

Jack glared at him more and opened his mouth to say something but refrained himself. He exhaled deeply and looked towards me instead, his eyes filling with desperation. "Skylar, please forgive me. Let me make it up to you. Let me take you to dinner-"

"Woah." Alexander said, suddenly standing in front of me and facing Jack. "Buy her dinner? If you pissed off the lady then there's no going back from that."

"Dude." Jack said, awfully calm. "Get out of the way."

Alexander crossed his arm. Although I couldn't see his face, his voice sounded serious and low. "I will, but first tell me this. What the hell did you do to her?"
