"No reason, it's just I think something might be wrong."

I gave her a confused look. "Why?"

"Well, you've been on bed rest for a while now and your getting worse. The pains are hitting you more often." She exclaimed.

I just shrugged. "Yeah, but its different. They don't hurt as much."

"I think you need help." She said to me.

"What help? From the humans? No thanks. I'll be pretty much yelling for the hunters' attention."

"Fine, then tell Brandon." She replied with a worried look.

"What will he know? I don't want him to panic. And that's exactly what he'll do if he knows."

"Well, you'll only make him mad if you don't." She said as she raised her eyebrows.

"I guess, but did it ever occur to you it might be because I'm in bed all the time?"

She shook her head. "I don't think that's it."

"Oh, what do you know?" I asked.

"I know more than you do." She pointed out.

"OK, fine. You win. I'll tell him."

She sighed in relief. "Thank god. I thought you were going to win that battle."

I laughed and went to find Brandon even though it was against bed rest. My legs felt so amazing. Just to stretch them made me miss being able to do what I pleased.

"Hey, I thought I told you to stay in bed?" Brandon said as he put a plate of food back down on the counter.

"I need to tell you something." I said sluggishly.

"Well, what is it?"

"Hold on. Patience." I told him.

"I told you when we first met I don't have patience."

"Well, my stomach started hurting again." I told him.

"Again? When did they start?" He panicked.

"They started after I got punched but lately they've been more recent."

"Is it because you've been in bed to much?"

"What? No. They just occur more often so I wanted to let you know. That is all." I said as I went back into my room.

He stood there shocked. I didn't see how long he stood there like that but I have a feeling it was a while. I turned the radio on and got back in bed.

"What did you say?" Hailey asked.

"Well, I told him."

"What EXACTLY did you tell him." She asked.

"I told him that the pains were more recent and I told him when they started."

"Oh, is that all? You made me think you told him only that you were hurting." She said with relief.

"Why would I tell him only a little?"

She raised an eyebrow. "Because you like to leave out details."

"Do not."

She nodded. "Yes, you do."

"Well.............whatever."

She smiled. She had won again. What is wrong with me? I used to win all the battles and now it's like I can't even defend myself anymore.

"I wish Sara was still here. She'd know what to do." I said to Hailey. I felt a little sad just thinking of how excited she was to find out I was pregnant along with Hailey.
