~Flashback~
Jerome was leaning on the side of the swings with his eyes scanning through the play ground,  looking for someone to gang up on with his group of friends,  the other children avoided his eye contact as they walk by the hostile child.  It was the last day of fifth grade before everyone could go to separate middle schools and not see each again,  Jerome hopes to not see any of these ugly faces for the rest of his life. Jerome was bored as hell,  why can't he find the perfect prey to pounce on and give them one last scare of the year before they're out.

Then his eyes focused on the perfect person, a girl named Ebony who have been in the same classes with him since kindergarten,  she was quite the small and weak girl,  she is a brown skin girl who always had these two big afro puffs on her head that were the size of volleyballs. Jerome comes up with a idea and smirks devilishly,  he whispers to his friends on what to do,  they all return the devilish smirk,  hop off the swings and walks toward Ebony's direction.  Ebony was minding her business like a simple little girl,  playing with a ball she brought from home that her dad gave her.  The five fifth graders walks toward her until she was surrounded.

Ebony was confused and looks at them all,  one kid pushed her harshly,  making her petite body lose her balance. Ebony nearly falls over until another boy grabbed her and pushes her to another boy.  The boys continue to push the little girl until she could barely stand up,  making her fall over and scrape her knee badly.  Jerome walks up to ebony as she looks at the ground,  trying to hold her tears back,  holding onto the ball like it'll protect her.  "Tsk!  That stupid ball gon do nothing for you. "Jerome said cruelly, he grabs the ball as he yanks it,  but ebony held onto it tightly. Jerome pulls onto her ball with more force but Ebony shakes her head rapidly as she continues to hold on.  "Give me the damn ball! " Jerome said,  yanking it hard,  By the time he yanked the ball Ebony couldn't hold on any longer and it slips out of her hands,  causing Jerome to fall over and hit his head on the black top.

"Ooooh..." was the only thing his friends could say,  Ebony stares at him wide eyed. Jerome got up,a small drop of blood on the ground and walks over to her.  Angrily. Ebony couldn't help but stare at him coming towards her,  her legs shaking.  Jerome stomps over to her,  he grabs her by the throat and throws his hand back,  then strikes her with a loud 'SLAP' that it nearly echoed through the play ground. Ebony yelps at the sharp pain, a cut on her cheek as it bleeds, whimpering and starts to cry. Jerome throws her back to the ground,  making her hit the ground harder than he did.  "Hit me again and I'll fucking kill you!!" He yells in her face,  causing everyone in the playground to look at them.

Ebony whimpers more and holds her cheek,  tears glowing down her cheek.  Ebony gets up quickly and runs back inside of the school. After that everyone went back to playing like they didn't see anything,  Jerome's friends started laughing and making fun of Ebony's reaction.  "What a stupid little crybaby. " "i bet she finna tell her mommy." They all were laughing about it until it was time to go back in.  By the end of the day it was finally summer break and the end of elementary school. All the kids scattered and walk home,  took the city bus, or was picked up by their parents.

Jerome took the bus, and as he walks to the bus he walks pass Ebony, who was walking slowly and looking down.  Jerome entered the bus and sits down and leans his head on the window,  Jerome saw Ebony's dad get out of the car, the car was filled with suitcases and boxes in the back. By the time ebony saw her dad,  she ran toward him,  face filled with tears.  The two walk to the car and get in,  By the time they have gotten in,  their car disappeared  but at the opposite direction of their apartment,  they drove off nonstop until their car disappeared. ' they moving? ' he thought but then stopped caring.  Though,  seeing how bad she was crying,  made his heart drop a little,  feeling a small amount of guilt as the bus starts moving, now taking the small guilt home with him.
