chapter twenty-two

I sat next to Matthew, glad he was there. "So you're actually staying?" He nodded and then looked over at my mom. "Do you want to tell her the news, or me?" My mom gave him a nod, so he started to speak. "I'm not only moving here, but I'm living with you." I screamed and jumped onto him, giving him the biggest hug ever. "OH MY GOD SERIOUSLY!?"

Matthew just nodded, laughing hysterically at me. "Yeah, my parents can't afford to move, plus there jobs, so it's just me!" I smiled, "Good enough for me, even though I miss them a hella lot!" I gave him another hug. My phone started ringing and I answered it. "Hello?"

Hey Lexi! It's Shawn. Wanna hangout with me, Taylor, and Joey?

I would love to, but Matt would be there?

I heard him sigh on the other end.

That's fine! Meet us at the mall in 20 minutes?

I noticed, then realized he couldn't see me.

Yeah sure, we'll be there bye.

I pressed end and then walked back into the living room where my mom and matthew were.

"Matt, were going to go to the mall with Shawn, Taylor, and joey. Let's go!" He nodded, standing up. "Nothing is going to happen with Shawn right?" I nodded, "Nah, he's cool, as long as you don't try anything." He shook his head, "Nah, I'm good. I got my girl back." I just let out a small chuckle.

We walked out and went into his rental car, which I was right about. I drove because he didn't know where the mall was and I wasn't in the mood for being the human gps at the moment.

"So why do they wanna hangout with me?" I laughed, "Don't get too full of yourself Matthew. They want to hangout with me, but I told them that you're with me and they said that was fine." He laughed, nodding in response.

We reached the mall and I got out of the car, pulling my phone out of my back pocket. I went to my contacts and pulled up Joey's name. I pressed call. He answered and I asked where they were and he told me the store. They were in Pacsun. I ended the call and Matt and I walked into the mall towards Pacsun.

I saw the store and we walked up. I saw Joey standing there, holding Taylor's hand. Shawn was just kind of third-wheeling. "Hey guys!" I gave Taylor and Joey a hug, but didn't really acknowledge Shawn. Is wasn't awkward, I just didn't want Matthew getting pissed.

"So what are we going to do?" They all shrugged. "Thanks for the help. So I'm the only girl, so I think I should pick. I think we should go to the movies." They all agreed so we went to the movies and saw Divergent because I really wanted to see it and haven't yet. Neither have they, so it worked.

The seating was going to be: Matthew, Alexa, Joey, Taylor, Shawn.

We got our tickets and then whatever we wanted from the concession stand. We went into the theater and chose our seats, sitting down.

The movie was finally over. It was great. Not as good as I'd hoped, but still great. "Did you guys like it?" They all nodded, but Shawn shrugged. "Hey Shawn? Did you not like it?" He looked back towards me, "No, it's not that. I mean it was good but it could have been better." I nodded, "I thought the same thing to be honest."
