chapter eight

I walked downstairs with my last bag. Everything was already packed in the moving truck and the driver started the truck. We were taking a plane, while we had a driver for the moving truck. "Alexa, Matthew, are you guys ready?" We both nodded and he grabbed my hand. His parents were there so I hugged them and kissed their cheeks goodbye. I started tearing up.

"I'm going to miss you guys so much!" They knew everything. We ended up explaining it to them so they didn't think I was just getting up and leaving Matthew, which would never happen. "We'll miss you too sweetheart! We will call you! Call us when you land so we know you made it their safely." I nodded and then hugged them one more time. I got into the car with my mom. Matthew slid in after me. 

"Are you ready Alexa?" I looked towards my mom and shook my head. She started driving and I just looked back, waving at Matt's parents. We were driving for about an hour, when we finally reached the airport. It was time. My mom got out of the car first. Then Matt and I did. He intertwined our fingers. The plane wasn't leaving for another hour, but my mom just wanted to get there earlier.

"Mom, Matt and I are going to walk around the airport. I will be back here on time." She nodded, as Matt and I walked away. "So, you're leaving." I sighed, "Sadly." He looked at me, then looked away. "Alexa, I love you. I love you so much more than you will ever know. So much more than anyone else in this world ever will. I don't know what I am going to do without you. I'm going to miss you so much. I can't take this. To be honest, I don't know why I even came here today because I know it's just going to make it worse, but I honestly couldn't help myself. I love you and I don't want to lose you."

He had me in tears, again. I was speechless. I couldn't say anything. I tried, but no words were coming out. I just looked at him, then looked away, just as he had done to me.

"I-I don't even know what to say. I love you so much. I don't know what I am going to do without you. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my whole entire life. You mean more to me than life itself." I pecked his lips really quick.

I was running late to go back to the boarding where the plane was. Matthew and I were now running to try and make it on time. We finally made it back just as my mom was about to get on. "Bye Matthew, I'm going to miss you. I love you." I kissed him so passionately. "I'll call you every day Alexa I promise. I love you so much more." We kissed again and then I hugged him tight. I didn't want to let him go, but I had to. It was time.

I waved to him as I walked through the doors. He waved back and I couldn't help but let my tears out. I was now balling my eyes out at this point. I ran to catch up to my mom and she just wrapped her arms around me. We got into the plane and took our seats. After about 20 minutes of everyone getting situated, the plane started moving. 

We went down the lane. The plane started to speed up and it finally lifted off of the ground. We were flying and we were going up and up. I was still crying. "Mom, is this what heart break is supposed to feel like?" I placed my face into her shoulder. "Honey, that's not heartbreak. You're just broken hearted. There's a difference." I was so confused by what she meant, but I didn't even want to talk so I didn't bother asking.

We finally landed after like a five or so hour flight. I called Matt as soon as I got off the plane. "Hey...I miss you...I want to go back...I gotta help my mom, I'll call later. Tell your mom that I landed safely. She wanted to know...Bye I love you." I finally hung up.
