chapter two

I woke up, looking around me. Matt wasn't there. I sighed. I was honestly expecting him to still be lyingon the bed with me. I stretched and then put my glasses on. I walked downstairs, smelling breakfast. When I walked into the kitchen, I saw Matt making me breakfast. "What are you doing down here?" I whispered making sure no one heard. "Alexa, your parents left earlier. I heard them leave." I sighed, "why are both of our parents always gone? I don't get it. Do they not like us or something?" He shrugged, "I'm pretty sure it's just business." I let out another sigh. Our parents worked together. All four of them. 

"Matt, do you wanna do something today? I don't wanna stay in all day." He nodded, "yeah just let me know what you wanna do." I thought for a minute. "Can we go to the mall and go shopping?" He sighed. "You're kidding me right?" I shook my head, "If you loved me, you'd go with me." I pushed my bottom lip out, giving him the puppy dog face. Of course he gave in, like usual. "Well now I have to, that's not fair." I stuck my tongue out at him. "Oh that's it!" He started chasing me around the house. He chased me for about 5 minutes until we were both out of breath and he finally caught me. 

Just then we realized Matt had left the stove on. We ran back into the kitchen, thank god it wasn't bad, but there was a fire. I got a bowl and filled it with water quickly throwing it over the fire, making the fire disappear. I sighed in relief and so did he. "Matthew, my parents would hav killed me.. We really need to be more careful." He helped me up. "No, i need to be more careful, it was my fault." I shook my head and we just ate breakfast.

"Let's go to the movies! I wanna see that new movie, um what's it called.. I can't even remember, but it's out now!" He laughed at me because of how hard I was thinking about what this movie was called. "Matt, please? I really wanna see it with you!" He nodded, "of course we can, even though I have no idea what movie you are even talking about.." 

We were all ready to go. I was really excited. I've wanted to see this movie since the first preview that I saw. "Matt, I'm ready. The movie starts in like 20 minutes." He walked up to me and grabbed his car keys. We got in the car and he started it up. We were on our way. We were coming towards an intersection. The light was green. Matt kept driving, holding the steering wheel with one hand and holding my hand with the other one.

I turned my head to the left, looking past Matt's head, seeing a car coming just as we were going through the intersection. I could tell they werent stopping. "MATT STEP O-" it was too late. We were hit. The pain shot through my body.

"Get these two to a hospital now!!" I could only hear a few things. So much pain running through my whole body, I couldn't move. Matt and I were put into two different ambulances. Once we got to the hospital, they took us out on the gurneys and took us into the hospital in separate rooms. My vision was starting to get blurry. "Alexa?! Stay with us! Keep your eyes open!" I tried my hardest to keep my eyes open, trying to listen to the paramedic, but I just couldn't. My eyes slowly closed.

I slowly opened my eyes, not remembering where I was. I saw a random lady walk over to me, "Hey Alexa, how are you feeling?" She talked in a sweet calm voice. "I'm in so much pain.. What happened?" She walked closer to the bed, "Honey, you were hit by a car with your boyfriend Matthew. It was a seve-" I cut her off, "Oh my god. Matthew! Is he okay?!?! Ow.." I held my head. She grabbed my hand, "Honey, take it easy. His side was hit. You were out conscious for about 4 hours. Matt is in a coma. We don't know how long he will be in it for, he um might not uh even make it..." I started tearing up. "No, NO! You're lying!!!!!" She shook her head, "Sadly, I'm not. I'm sorry. I'll leave you alone." I grabbed her hand, "No! Take me to him!"

She helped me stand up and walked with me to Matt's room, which wasn't too far from mine. She slowly opened the door, "be quiet, you can talk to him. he may or may not hear you, but it's worth a try." I nodded. and she left me alone with Matt. I walked over to him slowly, in a lot of pain.

I grabbed his hand, "Matthew, I'm so sorry this happened. I dont know how it did, but I'm sorry. I can't believe this happened to you. For some reason, I have a feeling this was all of my fault. I don't remember anything from the crash. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I love you so much. I just hope you're going to be okay." At this point, tears were streaming down my face. I kissed his forehead, and just sat there with him for about an hour until I had to go back to my room. I had to stay in here over night. I didn't know how long Matt would be here for..
