Chapter Twenty-Three

☆Jordyn's POV☆

~

"How have you not kissed yet?!" Nina asked in shock. I blushed and hid my face in a pillow.

"I don't know..." I sighed.

"Okay, be completely honest. How much do you like Tom?" Nareesha asked. We were sitting on the couch in our pajamas while the boys were out at some club gigs.

"... a lot..." I blushed, my cheeks getting even redder. They both squealed.

"You have a date tomorrow, right? You have to kiss him then!" Nina smiled

"I will kiss him when the time is right. We told each other we wanted to take our relationship slow. Plus, there's Nathan so..." I trailed off.

"Aww, but you and Tom are so adorable together! Nathan can't be so protective. He says he trusts Tom." Nina told me. I nodded.

"I know. I trust him too. Nathan knows I won't make any mistakes." I said. I began to yawn. "This has been fun but I'm probably gonna fall asleep, I'm exhausted."

"But it's girl's night! Come on, Jordyn, let's watch a movie." Nareesha suggested.

"I know Tom and Nath told you to stay over until they got home but I'll be fine. I'm going to sleep so you guys can go. I really appreciate you keeping me company but go on home. The boys will be back soon."

"Are you sure? If anything happens, Nathan and Tom will have our heads." Nareesha half-chuckled.

"I'm sure. Good night, guys." I told them. They gathered their things and left as I fell asleep on the couch.

☆Tom's POV☆

"How do you get up from an all time low?" We all chorused as the song came to an end. The drummer had a long solo as we got off of the stage, the crowd cheering loudly.

"Great show, boys. Go on, treat yourselves to some drinks." Martin told us. BigKev followed us over to the bar. I ordered a Guiness and walked around, eyeing all the people around.

Trust me, I wasn't checking anyone out. I had my mind set on Jordyn. I was just looking at the crowd.

"Tom?" I heard someone call. I turned and my stomach dropped.

"Oh. Hi, Kelsey." I muttered.

"That was a great show." She smiled.

"Thanks." I said monotonously.

"Look, Tom, we need to talk." Kelsey told me. I nodded in agreement. "I still have feelings for you. I broke up with my boyfriend to tell you this. I want to get back together. I thought I wanted to see other people, but I was just afraid of getting super serious in our relationship. I want you back, Tom."

"Kelsey, I... I can't. I did love you, but-"

"Nothing's changed. Can't we just go back to how we were before? I need you, Tom." Kelsey begged. I shook my head.

"No. I have moved on. I have a girlfriend."

"Who?" She looked shocked.

"She's actually Nathan's stepsister, Jordyn. I really like her and we've been dating about two weeks." I explained.

"Oh." She seemed disappointed. "Well, congrats." Her tone hardened before she turned on her heel and quickly walked away.

"What did she want?" Siva asked as he approached me.

"She wants to get back together." I sighed.

"No... you're- you're not thinking about it, are you?" Siva asked, raising his eyebrows at me.

"Of course not! But we were together for like three years..."

"Tom!" Siva scolded. "You are with Jordyn. Nathan trusts you with her. I know she really really likes you. Don't mess this up because of Kelsey. You moved on from her, remember?"

"Yes, I know. But she dumped her boyfriend for me..."

"Forget it. Let's go home. You're going to tell Jordyn how you feel and you will realize you don't like Kelsey anymore at all." Siva told me, taking my hand and leading me out of the club.

When the two of us got home, none of the lights were on.

I figured they were watching TV, but when I opened the door it was silent. Siva and I entered and I saw a little bundle on the couch. I walked over to see Jordyn curled up in a little ball, her knees up against her chest. She was fast asleep.

"Talk to her tomorrow, I guess." Siva shrugged. I carefully picked her up and headed upstairs. She instinctively snuggled into me. It felt right.

At the top of the stairs I looked at Nathan's room and then at mine.

I decided to take her to my room.

I wasn't going to do anything.

I gently laid her down on the bed and covered her. I undressed and slipped on sweats and a t-shirt and then brushed my teeth before climbing into bed next to Jordyn. I wrapped my arm loosely around her waist.

"... Tom?" I heard her voice softly ask.

"Shh. Go back to sleep." I replied.

"Tom, I love you." She told me. I closed my eyes and smiled. I had been longing to hear those words. It made me come to a revelation.

Siva was right. I just needed to hear those words to realize it. I had moved on completely from Kelsey.

"I love you, too."
