Wake up. Take out the trash. Check on Ben. Eat breakfast. Brush my teeth. Take a shower. Dress myself. Check on Ben again. Then I eat and wash the dishes.
The same thing every day, for the past two weeks. After that I usually go to work, while Ben stays inside.
Since I don't dare leave him alone in case he decides to go searching up the guy he got his pills from, Angie looks after him. That is why we came here in the first place.
Chloe's aunt is a very cool person in all regards. She doesn't have a million cats nor dates random strangers. Nor does she dress strangely.
She's just like you and me, except she doesn't go out. And changes her hair color every two weeks. I wonder how her hair stays on top of her head if you ask me. But it does, she has beautiful hair.
She gets food and clothing, along with other necessities either delivered through mail or by Chloe herself. Chloe loves her aunt to pieces and so do I. She's been like a second mom to me. So staying here, knowing that Ben is taken care of while I am away at work makes me a little more assured.
-You don't have to wash the dishes, darling.- a soft feminine voice reaches my ears and I turn around displeased with myself.
-I'm so sorry Angie, did I wake you? I should have been more quiet.-I chastise myself and set the clean plate on the counter. -I just don't like to make a mess, that's all.- I say but she studies me with her wise eyes from the doorway.
-No, it's not that. You were always a very neat girl, but you are extra neat when you are sad. What's up, Hannah?
I smile looking up at aunt Angie. I really hate how perceptive she is.
-It's been two weeks and I still don't know what to do about Ben.- she walks over to me and hugs me, putting my head on her shoulder.
-Don't think too much darling, we'll sort this out. You stay here as long as you like, you are no trouble.
-Thank you so much, Angie..I..
-No, no, hush.- she interrupts me.-I actually am happy that Chloe has left for a while. I really do not like her current boyfriend. There is something about him that just puts me off.
She releases me and I look at her oddly.
-Joo Woo felt the same way from what I saw... strange. He seemed like a decent guy.
-Joo has always been a very bright boy.-Aunt Angie says, tying her hair up in with an elastic band.-However, Chloe has a record of picking very bad people to love. So it immediately makes me suspicious, like "what's wrong with this one?"
-You can't dislike someone because of a rule you made up. And Chloe's relationships weren't all that bad..
She smiles up at me cheekily.
-Oh I can. Being a crazy lady who doesn't go out tends to give you that privilege. But besides that, I just have a gut feeling, you know. I can tell if a person is good or not.
My mind immediately drifts towards Adrian for a moment and I wonder what she'd say about him. Wait, we aren't friends anymore... kind of, so it doesn't matter.
She looks at me smiling.
-Where did you go just now?- I shake my head and smile at her.- There was someone you just thought about, didn't you?
-No, I didn't. Not really.- I lie and wonder if I am really that transparent.
-Uh huh, sure. Well, tell me next time about that "not really", because I'd like to know who made you smile like that.
