Chapter 8

-A FEW DAYS LATER-

EMILYS POV

It's been a few days since we all went to the beach together

That day ended with me and Conor racing down to the sea, us all getting chips for dinner and not seeing very much of Jack and Yasmine at all

It was a bit weird seeing them but I will get along with them for the sake of my baby

Today is New Years Eve and I plan on having a few drinks tonight with my parents and that because

Helen and Gary are looking after Penelope tonight

I would love to see the New Year in with Penelope but the thing is, I haven't been out since I gave birth to Penelope and I need a break

Even if it is just for a night

Don't get me wrong, I love her to pieces but I'm a single mother who is up all hours god sends so I need a break

Plus I would of had Penelope at home for her first New Years Eve but Gary and Helen insisted that they wanted to look after her

Mikey has arranged to go out with Conor and Jack, so it is just me and my parents tonight

Me, Mikey and my parents are currently sat at the dining table in our kitchen just having a cup of tea and chatting

"So Emily are you thinking about starting your YouTube channel up again?" Mikey asks

I sigh

I knew as soon as Jack and Conor knew where I was, I would have to think about it

Because it's either I get a normal job or I start making YouTube videos again

"I'm not sure, I guess I should think about it" I say with a shrug, Mikey nods at my response

A silence surrounds us before my mum breaks the silence

"So Emily, we know that Mikey is going out tonight but what are you doing?" She questions

I raise an eyebrow at her

"Well I thought me, you and dad was staying at him tonight and having a few drinks" I say

"Me and your dad are going out for dinner to bring in the new year" she tells me

Oh, so I'm being ditched by my own parents

Never thought that would happen

"Umm, I'm not su-" I am cut off talking when I hear my phone start ringing

I pick it up off the table and turn it over to see that Conor is ringing me

"Sorry guys, I should take this" I say as I get up and leave the kitchen

"Hello?" I say as I put the phone up to my ear

"Hi Em" I hear a voice say to me that I recognise to be Conor

"Hi Conor, what's up?" I question as I run my hand through my hair walk into the living room

"Well I was wondering since you are bringing Penelope over here for my mum and dad to look after her, I was wondering if you wanted to go to a new years eve party with me tonight" Conor asks me through the phone

I guess going with Conor wouldn't be a bad idea and it would give me a way to bring in the new year

"Sure why not" I say with a smile like Conor could see me

"Awesome, well why don't you come round here with Penelope around 8:30 and then we can go to the party?" he suggests

I could sense that Conor had a smile on his face at my answer, which makes me happy
