Chapter 28

-A FEW WEEKS LATER-

24th April 2018

EMILYS POV

Today it is Caspar Lee's 24th birthday and we are having a surprise party to celebrate

Joe decided to host it as his flat because of the amount of people, we need to accommodate

It seems like Joe is always hosting parties at his flat but we can't do it at our flat because Penelope's stuff is everywhere

Caspar's, Oli's and Mikey's flats are too small to host parties

It is around 10:15am right now and I am sat in the garden of my childhood house, chatting to my mum

Jack is sat in the middle of the trampoline, holding Penelope in his arms as well as bouncing her around a little

Even though I am nearly the other end of the garden, I can hear Penelope giggling from here

She loves spending time with Jack and it looks like he loves spending time with her as well

I sigh as I look around the garden, before I take a sip of my tea from the mug in my hands

"I remember when you, Jack, Mikey and Conor used to jump around on the trampoline for hours" my mum says reminiscing about my childhood

I chuckle

"I also distinctly remember Mikey pushing my off that, bloody trampoline as well" I say thinking back to the time when we are all messing around

My mum rolls her eyes

"Ah yes, the trampoline incident, we never heard the end of that!" she says

"I remember it so clearly, I was literally stood in the kitchen and Jack came running in, in such a state of panic, so I followed him back outside and I saw you laying on the floor, with Conor comforting you and Mikey crying about how he had hurt you" mum continues to reminisce

"I was not crying!" A voice says

I look to my left to see Mikey appear from at the side of the house

"Yeah sure you wasn't, poor Mikey actually caring for his sister!" I say in a high pitched voice

He rolls his eyes, before he walks away and joins Jack and Penelope on the trampoline

"You was all so adorable as children" my mum says with a smile before she takes a sip of her tea

I chuckle at her comment as I watch Jack get Penelope off the trampoline

"Come on darling, let's go and see mummy" he says as he carries her down the garden towards me and my mum

I laugh out loud as I see Mikey trying to get out of the netting, that is around the trampoline

As he tries to talk down the steps, he stumbles on the middle step and completely misses bottom one before he composes himself and walks towards me and mum

"So what time is Caspar's party?" mum asks

I finish drinking my tea and I smile as I turn towards her

"Well it starts around-" I pause to check the time on my phone before I hear a voice say

"It starts at like 7:30pm" Jack says as he walks up to us with Penelope in his arms

He passes Penelope to me, as he reaches me and I hold her close, as I bounce her around in my arms

"Thanks again mum for looking after her tonight, I literally don't know what I would do without you" I say to her gratefully
