For the First Time Again

Prologue

"Baby, ano? Ready ka na?"

I went to grab his hand and nodded.
"Well, it'll be good to be back and have memories, right?"

He smiled and kissed my forehead.

"That's my baby girl. How's your head? Feeling better?"
"Yeah. But I get headaches once in a while."
He nodded and stroked my hair.

We had a long travel time and I felt sick most of the time. Good thing I have this handsome guy beside me. He's so caring.

It's been 5 years since I was here. I can't remember much of it all now. I lost contact with my friends and now, I'm coming back home.

Do they still know me?
I hope I can recognize them when I see them.

"Carli, Tagalog ka dito ha. Pwede namang Taglish pero 'wag conyo please."
"Haha! You keep on reminding me that for almost a week now. Siguro pang-10 mo na yan since we're on that flight."

I heard him cursed under his breath.
"Hey, language!"

"I'm your Kuya. I'll start my work here so you better behave, okay? It's not like we're in US anymore. We may or may not see each other."

Well, that's sad but it's okay. At my age, I should be really independent. I should have a boyfriend or be married, maybe. Kaya lang, single pa rin ako.

"You know I love you, right? It's really hard for me to let you be on your own."
"KUYA! I'm in good behavior even in US. Do you have sister complex? I'll be fine. Magwowork din naman ako dito and besides, we have a deal to contact you or mom or dad whenever I think I should."

"Syempre, baka anong mangyari sayo."
"You sound like an overprotective dad. Okay lang ako. No need to worry. The people I know here are nice, right?"

After parking in the garage, I got off the car. I sighed.

Yeah. They are nice and I expect them to be nicer 'coz we might have met before, but it'll be like the first time for me.
