For the First Time Again

Chapter 20

I woke up and saw Gabriel smiling at me.

"Ang ganda mo kahit ang gulo ng buhok mo." I smiled at him. Gwapo rin naman siya.

I stood up and he hugged me.
"Kailan start duty mo?"
"Two days from now. Why?"
"Let's have a date."

"Okay. Where do you want to go?"
"No. Where do you want to go? Ikaw? I'll be dating you."
"Oh, I see. Your condo sounds good. Your bed there is cozy. Yeah, I'd like to stay with you for 2 days straight."
"Di ka pa ba nagsasawa sa akin? We are always together. Why do we have to stay there?"

He shrugged and handed me new set of clothes.
"Get ready. Sayang dalawang araw natin bilang mag-asawa kung nasa bahay tayo nila Mama. Ah, I have a better idea. Let's go to my place."

I fixed myself and went downstairs for breakfast. I saw Andrei and him and they both smiled awkwardly. Napansin ko na ang lungkot ng mata ni Martin. I remember what happened last night and I couldn't take another step.

"Hey, sorry may kinuha lang ako sa taas."
Bigla akong kumalma nung marinig ko boses niya sa likod ko. Gabby, savior talaga kita.

Walang kumikibo sa dining table. Ang awkward ng atmosphere pero biglang nagsalita si Andrei.

"Gabriel. Kailan mo pakakasalan si Lene?"
Nasamid ako pati si Martin.
"None of your business."
"Ang aga aga ang sungit."

I poked Gab on his side.
"What?" Singhal niya sakin. Sungit.
"Pati si Lene sinusungitan mo?! Umayos ka nga kambal."

Hindi sumagot si Gab. He just looked at me with an irritated face.
"You should smile. We're eating breakfast."
"Okay. I'm sorry."

Tahimik lang kami buong kain namin. Inayos na ng mga kasama nila sa bahay yung pinagkainan namin and I saw Martin went outside.

"Prep ka na then we'll go. I'll wait for you here." He kissed my forehead and went outside.

Naalala ko na naman yung kiss kagabi. I took a deep breath and composed myself. God, bring back my memories.

Pagkababa ko sa hagdan I saw them talking.

I saw Gab talking. Kalmado lang mukha niya but he's talking a lot. Napansin ako ni Martin kaya bigla siyang tumayo. He looks pissed.
"Go fuck yourself, Gab."

Napailing si Gab at naglakad papunta sakin.
"Let's go." Kinuha ni Gab yung bag ko then he started walking towards the door.

"Martin." I don't know why but I called him and I walked towards him.

Gab looked at me with disbelief while Martin just stopped walking.
"I'm sorry about last night. Uhm. See you at work. Bye."

Tumakbo ako palapit kay Gab.
"What was that?"
"Wala! Gusto ko lang na alam ni Martin na okay na ako. Okay lang kami."
"Wow. That's nice." He said it sarcastically.

"Gab, sorry."
Tumango lang siya at pinagbuksan ako ng pintuan ng sasakyan.
"Hey, I said sorry na." Yumakap ako sa kanya. He just kissed my head and gestured that I should get inside already.

"Tell me we're okay then I'll stop."
"We are okay." He said it with a blank expression on his face. I sighed. We are definitely not okay.

We stayed silent until he parked his car.
"We should have--."
"What? Stayed sa condo mo? You just wanna be home with him again, right?"
He mumbled something, got off and opened my door.

I did not utter a single word pero who is that 'him' that I want to be home with? Gusto ko lang naman sabihin na dapat naggrocery kami!

I've never seen Gab this quiet and mad. Well, hindi ko naman alam talaga kung galit ba siya ngayon or frustrated lang but I feel hurt. Siguro di ko dapat kinausap si Martin. Maybe I should just trust Gabby on this.
