Haruna looked at the crystal curiously, tilting her head, putting it closer to the lamp and analyzing the way it reflected the light. She looked at me and wisely said "chalk". I replied: "Yes, I think it looks like a chalk too". And so I confirmed she could read my mind, or at least, some keywords from my thoughts. She walked towards the only plant in the house, a dracaena that Consuelo had gifted me, and buried the crystal in its soil. "Don't be afraid, mom". I went cold: it was the first time she called me mom. "Why would I be?" I said, putting my hand to my mouth, from the shock. Haruna didn't say anything else and went to sleep.
