this was requested by ermagherdGirl141, and i thought it would be fun. So, i am making a mature version of this story. I hope you enjoy it!
"Are you sure this is safe?" You asked nervously as you looked down at the course, worn, gray cartridge your best friend had handed you on their way in. "Come on, you're the only one who has the matching game system for the game." They said, taking you by the shoulders and leading you into the living room where your old Nintendo 64 sat untouched beneath the television, caked in dust. "But, what about that story you told me of the haunted video game?" You asked, eyeing them as you spoke.
"(y/n) come on, this is the wrong game, this is Majora's Mask not a link between time, we'll be safe." Your friend soothed, taking the game back and putting it into the slot, fiddling with the machine before plugging it in and flicking it on. Your stomach churned like butter with a persistent sense of unease as the logo came on screen and, after a long moment of waiting, you came to the main menu of the game.
You had fallen out of the family system games and felt more comfortable with the pressure free mobility of the portable systems, so you watched from the couch, acting as a cheer leader for your friend as they went through the game like a pro. The two of you sat there for the rest of the day, binging on your favorite snacks as they went through the temples until darkness had crept its way into your living room and they were forced to go home.
"Hey, (y/n), can i leave the game here and come back tomorrow to get it?" (b/f/n) asked before he left. You nodded and waved good bye, closing the door behind them before sitting down and flicking on t.v.
You watched television for a long while until your parent figure shooed you up to your room, ordering that you take the system with you so that she could vacuum the living room without the tangled cords messing her up, so you lugged the dinosaur of a machine up to your room and set it by the television. You lounged around your room for a while before your parent figure came in to check on you and hustled you into bed, wishing you a good night before they left for their own room. So you laid for a while in silence, staring up at the ceiling in the darkness until sleep finally stole you away.
Suddenly, you awoke to the eerie sounds of clock town playing through your room. You propped yourself up on your elbows and looked at the television, and sure enough, it was on, playing the legend of Zelda game (b/f/n) had left with you, but this time it was...off.
Link wasn't facing away, instead, he was staring at you with an eerie grin like the one from the creepy statue. He watched you as you got up to shut the television off, his head moving to remain trained on you as you approached the television. Your heart thundered against your chest like a stallions hoof beats as you reached behind the television, not wanting to use the buttons and have to look at the creepy smile anymore, so you were reaching to unplug it. You put a hand on the television to keep you up while you pulled the plug looking back to see the bright glow of the television. Your veins filled with panic as you unplugged every cord behind the television, but it remained on.
Suddenly, you heard the gentle trickle of water and something cold and clammy suddenly touched your hand. You screeched, pulling away in fright so fast that you fell onto your butt. You took in quick breaths as you saw water streaming from your television, and the pale, ghostly hand of a clawed figure dragging a boy who looked like a soggy, deathly pale link out of your screen.
You tried to scream again, but nothing would come out, so you sat in frozen fear as the boy pulled himself out, bringing with him a heavier flow of water until his torso was fully visible and dripping with water. The eerie music still played in your ears, but in reverse, and your nose burnt with the salty scent of ocean water. Finally, a scream tore from your throat, making the boys head snap towards you, revealing two black sockets dripping with blood and the wolfish, unnatural grin that was on his pasty, dripping face. He turned towards you, pulling his hips out of the television and then his scrawny, sickly leg, he reached a clawed hand for you as the smooth feeling of wires crept up your leg.
You tried to kick the wire off, but another grabbed your wrist, dragging you towards the demonic creature from your television. your heart thundered so loud you couldn't hear anything but the pumping of your blood in your veins. Tears blurred your vision as the boys clammy, cold hand touched your cheek, almost in a suggestive manner until he grabbed your hair, pulling you closer to his own face, his hot, rancid breath wafting over your tear tracks as your blurry vision refused to focus on him. You fought against the wires, but you were crying too hard to use any strength, too busy shaking as the boy rested a hand on your leg so that he could lean into your ear as a third wire crept around your throat.
Then, in an unnatural, demonic voice that was scratchy, yet smooth, the creature spoke, "You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" He whispered before leaning back to lock eyes on you once more, an eerie, child-like laugh coming from his mouth as a long, black tongue shot out to lick you as if he was tasting his meal before eating it. Suddenly, the wire tightened and you couldn't breathe, you began clawing at your throat, trying to pull the wire away, but it only tightened.
Moments passed and your vision began to blur, the last thing you saw was the eerie toothy grin of the boy fading back into your tv, still giggling like a child as he dragged you with him, taking you into the game. a moment later, everything went black.
This...was fucking hard. The story was easy to come up with, but i had to take breaks to not become too frightened. Anyway, i hope you enjoyed, leave any requests in the comments, peace!
