The Funeral: Trouble (part 3)

Silence. Silence is all i hear. We are driving silently back to my house and the suspense is killing me! We are 5 minutes from my house and no one uttered a single word. I couldn't even hear Darcy and Quiin breathing! I'm starting to freak out a little. When we were younger, if we got in trouble Melanie would joke about things to lighten the mood and it would work. But Melanie isn't here and i'm freaking out. Alright Jade. In. Out. In. Out.

We pull up to the Newman Estate and i'm pretty sure i just saw the window curtains flutter. I think i'm officially paranoid. Yeah thats gotta be it. I start hyperventilating with each step we took getting closer and closer to the Estate. 5 more steps. 4 more steps. 3 more steps. That's it i can't go in. I bolt in the opposite direction just to face plant into the gates.

"you owe me 5 bucks." Darcy murmured triumphantly to Quiin.

"yeah and u still owe me a foot rub!" Quiin replied back grumpily.

"we'll talk." Darcy sniggered.

I get up and sulk my way to the door. Darcy and Quiin follow behind me so they could catch me if i make another run for it. I sigh knowing whats coming for me when i open the front door. Before i could even open the front door someone covers my mouth and eyes. I cry out in pain when someone kicked the backside of my right kneecap. I elbow them in the gut and they let me go at once. I look around and see Darcy and Quiin passed out. They're tied together by ropes. Behind them are two people dressed in black. Ski hats cover their faces. Two other men are advancing toward me with knives in their hands. With each step they took i reached out for my pocket knife. I grab it. I hid my knife inside my dress pocket which was hidden very well. I drop the clutch and it landed with a thud. Both men are on either side of me. The man on my right stops advancing while the one on my left keeps going. I prepare my stance. He comes closer, and closer, and closer and then he thrusts his knife at me. I expected it and kicked it so it flew into the wall. He cusses and tried to tackle me. I dodged out of his way and used his momentum to swing him into his partner. He got stabbed in his gut while they both fell to the ground. the other to looked at each other and then bolted for the gate. Before they could go anywhere i grabbed my pocket knife and threw it at one of them. It peirced his clothing and whilst pinning him to the wall. I grab the knife which was stuck into the wall and use id to pin him. He was wiggling around trying to free himself. I grab a white cloth and place it toward the struggling man's mouth. He falls unconcious instantly. I look in the direction of the last man to find him unconcious. Iuntie Darcy and Quiin and use that rope to tie up the 4 burly men. I grab both knives and pocket them. I search the men and found a gun with bullets. I place that inside my left boot. Then i shake Darcy and Quiin up whilst dialling 911. Then i hear a feminine voice scream for help.

"Darcy! Quiin! Wake up!" i shout in their faces. When that didn't work i slapped them. They woke up instantly.

" hello? I'm Jade Wornsvy and my 2 friends and i were about to be kidnapped. Please come help. I have to go inside the Newman Estate to see if the Newman's are safe." i tell the dispatcher. I hand the phone over to Darcy who starts talking immediately. I run inside the house to find a big, clad in black man holding a knife toward Liam and a gun toward Tessa. everyone else is unconcious on the floor with their hands and feet tied together and a cloth inside their mouthes.

"take one step closer and your precious parents are dead. Everyone is covered in fuel so if plan A doesn't work, plan B will." he said in a deep and scratchy voice. I nod my head. Tessa stares wide-eyed at me with her hands nd feet tied together and a cloth inside her mouth. Liam has a concerned look on his face while his eyes showed hatred for the man.

"now sir. We can talk this out. Put down the weapons and step outside. Why do u want to hurt the Newman's?" i ask cautiously

He chuckled and said,"my boss sent me. This is my job. I asassinate people." then all of a sudden the man stabbed Liam in the shoulder. He cried out in pain and bent down. Tessa started getting teary-eyed staring at her husband. He smiled wickedly at me before he stabbed Tessa in the shoulder too. She muffled out a cry and writhed in pain. Liam watched helplessly as Tessa started crying. The man stepped in front of them and started advancing at me with his knife pointed at me. He smiled wickedly. In the distance i heard the cops coming. I smiled at him. He looked confused for a moment. That gave me just enough time. In one swift motion i bent down, grabbed my borrowed gun, pointed it at him and fired at his shoulder. He dropped the knife and held onto his shoulder and cried out in pain. I tried to kick the gun out of the way but i was to late. He pointed the gun at my stomach and fired. It went through my stomach. The expression of pain passed through my face. I was falling down in slow motion. I saw him point the gun at Tessa. I didn't think about what i did. I just did it. I grabbed a knife and threw it. It stabbed his lower leg. He cried out in pain and dropped to the ground clutching his knee and shoulder. Then everything returned to normal. The pain was unbearable. I clutched my stomach which was profusely bleeding. I cried out for help as loud as i could. Then i was slipping. My eyelids were getting heavier. My senses were dulling. Breathing was becoming harder. I heard someone come in. I heard Darcy screaming and i felt myself being lifted. My life flashed through my eyes. The last thing i saw was though flashing lights. Then everything became black. In the distance was a light. I walked toward it but something was pulling me back. Like chains with cement balls connected to it, it was becoming harder and harder to walk. I stopped and the light was suddenly reducing. It grew smaller, and smaller, and smaller until it was no more. Everything was pitch black. And then it all stopped.
