My alarm on my phone sounded promptly at 6:30, but I had already been awake for an hour. I washed and dried my hair and applied a light layer of makeup. I was so excited to see Zander again and it consumed all of my thoughts.
Then my phone buzzed.
Alexander: Good morning, beautiful. How did you sleep? Would it be okay if I picked you up for school a little early?

My heart raced at the idea of having extra time with Zander.
Me: Good morning. Of course you can. I will be ready in 15 minutes.
Alexander: Perfect, I'll be there then.

The idea of him picking me up was enough to make my heart race, let alone the fact that he was coming early to talk with me longer. I stood in front of my closet staring at my clothes, but only picturing Alexander Thompson. His name sounded so wonderful and caused my heart to physically ache for him.

I settled on a pair of dark wash ripped jeans with a lightweight black shirt with an open back, and my favorite Doc Marten boots that I wore loosely without tying them. It was 6:40, 5 minutes before I was expecting him. I gathered up my supplies and my bag and went downstairs to tell Mom.

"Hey, Mom?" I called loudly in the hall.

"Hi, honey. I'm in the study," she responded immediately. I made my way to her study and found her, completely dressed and ready for the day, with her nose in a book. "Wow, someone is up and ready pretty early," she noted.

"Yeah, actually I wanted to let you know that I'm riding to school with a friend, so I'm not taking my car today. I still love it though, I promise," I assured her.

"Oh, who's the friend?" she asked with a wink.

"Just someone I just met in class, no big deal. I'm making friends, you should be proud," I said to her as I turned the corner to leave the room while laughing.

I looked down at my phone reading 6:44, so I walked out into the kitchen and right as the clock changed to 6:45, I heard truck tires hitting my driveway. I left my house as quickly as possible and climbed up into Zander's passenger seat.

"Wow. I could definitely get used to seeing you climb up into my passenger seat," Zander said with a smirk. He placed both of his hands on each side of my face. "How are you this morning, Rose?" he asked sincerely. He was so genuine and made me feel like he really cared to know how I was, so I let my true emotions slip off of my tongue.

"I'm tired because I hardly slept, I was up so much of the night thinking about you. But then I'm refueled by excitement knowing I'm about to be spending time with you," I said quickly with a big smile. His body tingled as I spoke and his gorgeous lips shaped into a smile.

"You are causing an eruption in my heart, Rose Garner," he said sweetly as he turned to face the steering wheel and began to back out of my driveway.

"Wait, what does that mean?" I couldn't help but smile whenever I looked at him.

"There are just so many things I want to say to you that I can't even form into words," he stated.

I related to that, so I placed my hand on top of his as it sat on my knee, and rested my fingers between his. With my other hand I ran my fingers up and down his arm and felt the goosebumps I caused on his skin by touching him. I couldn't believe he was actually having this kind of physical response to my touch. It was exactly how I felt for him and I could see him physically feeling the same way. I had never heard of falling for someone like this so soon after meeting them. All I knew was every time I looked at him I saw one million reasons to fall for him and everything I questioned about the timing disappeared.
