I'm brought back to reality suddenly by the flash that goes off in the room.

I know I'm not the only person shocked by the flash considering the death grip Eric now has over me and the way that he has pulled Xavier into his side protectively pretty much blocking him from view.

"Aww that's sooo cute! This one is definitely a keeper!"

"Coach Storm?"

"Mum" Eric sounds exasperated

"Mum?"

"Yes dear, Mum" she smiles " Its nice to see that you have managed to fall for the... what was it... self centred obnoxious idiot?"

"The what muppet?" Eric glares down at me.

"I love you" I say before placing a kiss in his cheek and moving to make my escape.

In my haste to escape though I have forgotten that I'm not wearing my leg. I know it sounds stupid but I feel so comfortable around them that I forgot I wasn't wearing it as usually when I feel this comfortable my leg is very securely on.

As I make a break for it my leg comes into contact with thin air as I make to run. I can feel myself falling and I end up face first on the floor smacking my head in the process.

"You forgot your leg!" Xavier shouts over the sofa

"Shit muppet! Are you ok? Where are you hurt?" Eric looks at me with concern.

"Don't get your knickers in a twist. Go get an ice pack from the kitchen and while your there get some bowls" coach commands.

Eric disappears to retrieve everything he needs to while coach helps me up from the floor.

"Thanks coach"

I can't help the blush that rushes to my face. 

"Please call me Gracie" she smiles "I see you have my done well and truly whipped"

"I'm not whipped I'm just madly in love" Eric smirks, his dimples on full display.

We all turn to the vomiting noise coming from the sofa to see Xavier sat there making vomiting motions making us all laugh.

"Come here muppet"

Eric pulls me into his lap and places the ice pack on my head. The sudden cold causes me to wince slightly.

"Shh it's ok muppet" Eric coos placing a kiss on my cheek before putting his face into the space by my neck.

Meanwhile Gracie is playing up the food for everyone. We all sit on the sofa eating Chinese food and watching the lion king after Xavier found out it is my favourite movie. I still haven't been able to leave Eric's lap but I'm not complaining.

Just as I was thinking about leaving the room to head upstairs Gracie walks in carrying a small cake with 18th birthday candles on it. All of them start to sing happy birthday to me and I can't help but smile as I blow the candles out. I've never had a birthday like this before.

"Happy birthday muppet" Eric whispers before placing a quick kiss on my lips.

"Mum can we have cake now" Xavier questions with his best puppy dog eyes
