I walked through the empty tower with my pajamas on. No one was at the tower because of a recent mission that came up the previous day, and they won't be back until this afternoon. I sat down on the couch and turned on the T.V. A message popped up on the screen saying, Can Not Connect. Try Again Later.
"Seriously! Your father is one of the richest men alive and he can't get a good signal for the T.V.!" I stood up from the couch and walked towards my room.
I have lived with the Avengers for a while now. The only reason I am here is because my father is Tony Stark. One may ask how he is my father and to be honest, I have no idea and neither does Dad. I always thought that it could be a mistake or that my mother is gone, but I have come to be content with my father. I live in a beautiful home with weird, amazing people, and I love it. Although it does get annoying at times when everyone else has powers, special abilities, or a suit of armor. I feel left out with they go on missions or do fun things like training together. I never get to be a part of those things.
I walked back into the living room with some fresh pajamas on for the day and sat down with some old parts and weird Asgardian stuff that Thor secretly gave me to play with. He said that the younger children would always play with this kind of stuff back in Asgard. I began to just mess around with the old parts when a bolt of electricity shocked me. A ball of energy began to circle around an Asgardian stone. It probably contained who knows how many volts of electricity inside of it. I looked a little closer, but I didn't get too close for it to touch me. The T.V. suddenly came on with the volume turned all the way up. I jumped and knocked the contents off of the table. I went to pick up the stone completely forgetting about what just happened, then I was shocked.
I opened my eyes to the T.V. still on, but I couldn't hear it. I slowly got up and looked around the room. Everything looked grey. I couldn't hear anything. I can't feel my body. I feel nothing. Then, there was a jolt. I made a sharp look to my right towards the T.V. I felt another jolt and the T.V. made a few sparks and turned off. Steam began to emerge from the television and to the smoke detectors. Soon enough, the alarm went crazy. There was a high pitched noise that felt like it was piercing my eardrums. I quickly covered my ears and fell back the couch. The sprinklers turned on wide open as well. I screamed for it to stop, and then I remembered FRIDAY.
"FRIDAY! Turn off the fire alarm!"
"Yes, Miss Stark." The alarm stopped and I let out a breath. I felt like I was choking air, and I couldn't breathe. Everything was turning, spinning. I am so close to death. I don't want to die. I'm not ready. I crawled for my phone and grabbed it. Once I touched and everything was completely fine. Everything came back. I could see clearly, hear just fine, and I was okay. I started to freak out. I thought I was going crazy. I was soaking wet from the sprinklers and had no idea what just happened. I looked down at my phone with a confused expression. It was glitching and turning on and off. When finally it just burst into flames. I screamed and threw it across the room. I ran for the kitchen to grab a fire extinguisher, and returned to the living room. Then I put out the small fire that use to once be my phone.
"What is happening?" I dropped the fire extinguisher. I looked around and saw a small vacuum robot that my Dad created. I looked at it and once again felt a jolt run through my body. The robot shorted out. I stepped back and looked towards the small lamp that sat on the table. The bulb exploded. I looked down at my hands and screamed.
"What's wrong Miss Stark?" FRIDAY asked.
"FRIDAY. What's happening to me?!"
"I'm not sure. Although Dr. Banner does have a device to scan a human life form. If you want to know."
"Where is it?"
"Downstairs in Mr. Stark's lab." I made my way to the lab downstairs and started to look for the small device. It took a good ten minutes to find it. Finally, I saw it on a table towards the back of the lab.
"FRIDAY. Scan," Suddenly a blue light scanned my entire body," What does it say?"
"It appears that you have nothing wrong with your vital organs, and-"
"FRIDAY! I don't need a check-up. I need to know what's wrong with me."
"Well, it appears that you have a incredibly strong electric and energy power source hidden deep within your heart. It was probably caused from that stone you touched earlier."
"FRIDAY, how strong are we talking?"
"It's off the charts. No Earth chart matches it."
"So it's more powerful than anything on Earth?"
"In a certain way, yes and no," I fell back and leaned against the small table," I will contact Mr. Stark and tell him the news."
"No! Don't tell Dad! Don't tell anyone. This has to stay a secret FRIDAY. No one can know."
"I'm afraid I can not do that. Mr. Stark programmed me to give any information unless he claims it is classified." I groaned in frustration. I should've known Dad would do something like that.
"This is insane," I walked back into the living room," I wonder what else I can do." I looked at another lamp that stood across the room. A jolt once again ran through my body, and the bulb inside the lamp shade blew.
"Awesome!" I began to play around with some more things. I turned things on and off, blew lights out, and transferred hundreds of volts throughout my body. It felt so good. It felt so right. Maybe this was meant to be. It was so much fun. This went on for hours on end. Soon it became dark. I ran back into the living room and looked around.
"If I can transfer electricity then that means I can hold it?" I continued to think about all the electricity running throughout the room and could fell it quickly absorbing inside of me.I feels so good. Everything was just so much better, calmer, and soothing. Finally, I noticed all of the lights flickering and it started to get hot. Suddenly everything hurt. I can't take it. It hurts so bad. No, make it stop. It hurts. I screamed and released all of the electricity that I absorbed and returned it out into the atmosphere. Suddenly all of the lights went out.
"Uh oh. FRIDAY? You there? Oh great." I looked around and realized that all of the lights in the ceiling were blown and there was a light layer of steam flowing through the room.
Tony's POV
"Mr. Stark the electricity has went out in Avenger's Tower," FRIDAY said as I sat down in the jet.
"What?"
"It appears that electricity has we-"
"Yeah I heard that part, but how did it happen?"
"It's unknown sir. It seems that there is a foreign life form inside the building. It may have set off the power."
"Alright. Wait! Where is Katie?"
"It appears she was last seen in the building, sir."
"Make sure that Sharon Carter or someone takes care of the foreign thing until we get there, but make sure Katie is safe!"
"Yes sir. I am trying, but there is a problem."
"What is it?"
"All of Manhattan's power is out. I can't reach anyone."
