"What do we do, Cap?" Sam asked. There was so much tension between everyone. We all stood a few yards apart in a line. I didn't want to do this, and I knew I wasn't the only one that didn't want this. No matter who much I was mad at my father, I couldn't fight him. I just can't.
"We fight." Both of our sides began to walk forward. Suddenly everyone broke out in a sprint. My heart was racing and I wanted to stop and ran away. Maybe I could. Before I could think about it anymore I saw a red and blue suit fly through the air. I flew up to meet him through the air.
"Woah!" We smacked into each other and fell to the ground. Right before we hit the ground, he twisted around and ended up hitting his back on the ground.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah. Great, kinda, maybe." I got off of him and helped him to his feet.
"So we fight?"
"No." He shot his webs and swung away. I stood there in shock. I thought that he would want to get payback, so I followed him.
"Hey! We're not done!" I yelled after him. A shield cut through his webs and he fell onto a baggage convertible-like thing.
"That thing does not obey the laws of physics at all."
"Look kid. There's a lot going on here that you don't understand." I slowly floated to the group and knelt behind a truck.
"Mr. Stark said you'd say that. Wow." He fired his webs and they stuck onto Cap's shield and ankle. He pulled forward and Steve slide towards Spider-Man. Then he kicked Steve backwards into a truck.
"He also said to go for your legs," the Spider said with a laugh. Steve ran to grab his shield but was stopped by Spider-Man's webs attaching to his hands. Steve pulled forward and spins in a somersaults propelling Spidey through the air. As he was swinging around, Steve pulled Spider-Man towards him, knocking him down with his shield. Spidey recovered and pulled himself up on top of a gangway.
"Stark tell you anything else?"
"That you're wrong. You think you're right. That makes you dangerous." He swung down and Steve leaped up to kick him backwards onto the gangway's leg.
"Guess he had a point." He threw his shield at the leg and the gangway's leg fell. Spider-Man was still under it as it began to fall on top of him, but he held it up. I quickly stood up and was in complete shock.
"You got heart, kid. Where're you from?"
"Queens," he struggled to say.
"Brooklyn." Steve left Spider-Man struggling to hold up the gangway. I ran over to the gangway and stood in front of the Spider. I flew forward and knocked him out from under the gangway.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah. Great, kinda, maybe." He laughed at the reference to his response earlier.
"Good. Thank you."
"No problem. Here." Once again, I helped him to his feet. We stood there in silence staring in each other's eyes.
"I have to go."
"I wish you could stay." I chuckled and began to walk away.
"Me too. But I can't."
"What happened?" I turned back around to face him again.
"What do you mean?"
"You, and you're father. What happened between you two?" I starred at him for a few seconds before answering.
"I'll tell you about it later." Then, I ran off.
"We have draw out the flyers. I'll take Vision. You get to the jet," Steve said through our earpieces.
"No, you get to the jet! Both of you! The rest of us aren't getting out of here," Sam replied.
"As much as I hate to admit it, if we're gonna win this one, some of us are gonna have to lose it," Clint said.
"This isn't the real fight, Steve," I said.
"Alright, Sam, what's the play?"
"We need a diversion, something big."
"I got something kind of big, but I can't hold it very long. On my signal, run. And if I tear myself in half, don't come back for me," Scott informed.
"He's gonna tear himself in half?"
"You're sure about this, Scott?" Steve asked.
"I do it all the time. I mean once, in a lab. Then I passed out." As I was running Rhodey flew right above me. Suddenly there was a giant Scott holding Rhodey by the foot. I screamed and tried to avoid Scott's feet to the best I could.
"I guess that's the signal," Steve said.
"Way to go, Tic Tac!" Sam exclaimed. I ran to get out of the way, but was hit by Scott's leg.
I blacked out.
I woke up to see Scott being tangled up by Spider-Man's webs. Tony and Rhodey flew up and sucker-punched Scott, and he fell to the ground.
"Yes! Ha ha! That was awesome!" Spidey shouted right before he was hit by Scott's arm. He soared through the air and crashed into some wooden boxes. My eyes widen as Scott returns to his normal size.
"Does anyone have any orange slices?" I laughed at his comment and ran over to Spider-Man. Just as I reached him, Tony flew away after the jet.
"Hey! Hey!" I ran over and knelt beside him. His mask was half way up his face, and he quickly pulled it down to cover the rest.
"Hey."
"We need to stop meeting like this."
"Like what?"
"One of us getting hurt."
"I know."
"What happened to you?!" I looked at him weirdly.
"What?"
"You're head!" I touched my forhead and winced in pain. There was blood on my fingertips.
"I don't know." I looked up to the jet and saw Tony and Rhodey flying away.
"I'm sorry. I have to go."
"Hey wait!"
"What?""What's going on?" He pointed up to where the jet along with Tony, Rhodes, and Sam were flying. A beam appeared aiming right for Sam. Then, Sam ducked under the beam and it hit Rhodey.
"No," I whispered. He quickly fell to the ground. I stood there in shock for a few moments.
"Katie-"
"No!!" I began to levitate to fly after him, but I was pulled back to the ground. I felt arms wrap around my arms, and they held me back. I sat down and began to cry as I saw Rhodey hit the ground.
"It's okay. It's okay," it was Spider-Man holding me back. I continued to cry for a few moments until I heard the sounds of sirens. My head shot up and looked around. I struggled against his grip and free myself, but he wouldn't let go.
"Spidey, please, let me go." I looked up at the masked spider pleading. He hesitated but finally let me go."Thank you."
"No problem." The sirens became louder.
"I have to go. I hope I can see you again."
"Then meet me." I ran forward then stopped in my tracks.
"What?"
"Meet me."
"Where?" I asked with a smile.
"Statue of Liberty. Friday. 3:00."
"Alright, Spider-Boy."
"Spider-Man!" He yelled as I ran away. I laughed and flew onto the top of a plane.
