Marks POV:

Jack started to swim to the south. I followed suit, staying near his side. We swam in comfortable silence. I think I should make some small talk. That's so boring though... hmm... I have an idea.

"Hey Jack, want to play a game? It's pretty simple and it'll help us understand each other a bit more. I think we might as well pass some time, considering that we probably have a far way to go." I said to Jack.

"Hmm... Sure. Why not?" Jack replied.

"The game is called "3 Questions". This is how it works: Person A has to ask Person B something. Person B has to answer honestly. If Person B feels uncomfortable with the question, they can say "pass" and Person A will ask something else. It switches constantly, so Person A will ask, then Person B, etc. Each person will get to ask 3 questions," I explained. Jack nodded, showing that he understood. "I'll go first."

"So! Where are we going exactly?"

"We're going to my home. We should be there in a little while. When we get there you will need to wait outside. I'll try to be in and out quickly." Jack responded. He paused for a second, a look of curiosity crossing his face.

"Hey, Mark? Why were you in that boat? Why did you go in the water?" He paused, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Jack turned onto his back and went back to swimming. He looked up at the sky, which was really just a blurry image of blue and a small dot of yellow.

"It's kind of a stupid reason," I said, looking over at Jack. He made a keep-going motion with his hand. "You know how I'm afraid of the ocean? Well, I happened to get a job that would need me out in the sea. It was the only job I could get and I needed the money. So,
I stupidly decided " HER DE DERE! I should go throw myself in the ocean and face my fears head on! What could possibly go wrong!" I rented a motor boat and... well you know the rest." I said. Saying this out loud makes it seem stupider than I thought.

"Ahh. That makes sense. I mean, I see your thinking process. Kinda. I thought you were just crazy an' going out there for no reason," Jack commented. He flipped back to his normal swimming position.

"My turn. Hmm... Oh, I have a good one! How did you meet Sam?" I asked curiously.

"Oh god... That's quite a story!" Jack giddily exclaimed, "I was practicing magic. I wasn't very good at it, so I decided to just test it out on whatever deemed useless. I was using mostly just plants or rocks. So, one day I was practicing on a piece of seaweed. I cast a spell, which was just supposed to make someone or something turn invisible, and the seaweed started glowing! I swam back, obviously, and the seaweed began to shape into an electric eel, but with only one eye. After the whole transformation, they swam up to me and seemed so nice. They had a mind of their own and could even turn invisible themselves! I guess the spell did end up working, technically. Ever since, Sam has been my loyal friend."

"Wow..! Well, that certainly a conversation starter. It's a sweet story." I complimented.

"Let's see... Oh! Did ya have any pets, erm before this whole ordeal?" He questioned.

"Yeah, I did. She was a golden retriever, a species of dog, and she was so nice. Her name was Chica. I would always call her by goofy nicknames. Chica was a huge licker and very extroverted! She lives at my mom's house..." I trailed off, becoming more aware of the current situation. I'll think about this later. When I'm by myself. Not right now.
