i got a plane in the middle of the night.
the perfect time of day is when the world's asleep, where the only light in the pitch black sky was the moon, no stars in her sight. to her, it's the perfect time to leave without a single trace.
she was prepared. with her fake form of identification in one hand, a pink bag of luggage in the other, she eagerly stepped into the car that would take her far far away from this life.
a blinding grin stretched across her face when the chauffeur greeted her, and her beautiful smile was surely contagious. the tired worker already felt his own life brightening from this one passenger's lively mood. how can one be so awake this late into the night?
settling into her seat, she looked out the window and didn't need to fake her excitement for what was to come. the whole drive, the young blonde didn't sleep a wink. she stared out the window the entire time into the infinite blackness without a care in the world.
she regretted not saying goodbye to the rfa, especially her adoptive cousin, yoosung, but they'll get over it. he'll get over it.
it's time to move on, she decided.
this isn't how she originally thought that she would leave the RFA, but sadly, he made it this way. he rushed it and made her cut all ties with everyone, lying about her death.
she's ready to leave this life and start another, and this is the only way that she found her wants—no, needs—possible without permanently ending her existence. starting anew is her goal, and she refuses to look behind her as she leaves everything and everyone.
her life, her love, her beautiful rfa, she pretends that none of it ever existed and starts a new life at magenta, the place of hopes and dreams. no one, not even jihyun, could get in her way of providing happiness for everyone—providing happiness for herself.

he hugs her, but she can't find it in herself to return it. she almost wants to yell and scream at him for forcing her to do this. isn't he suppose to be family to her? shouldn't he want her to stay? she knows about his weird obsession with her. so then, why would he send her away?
alaska is her destination, and honestly, she prays that the plane she is on will crash, sink, leaving everyone to die. let everyone on this fucking plane suffer like she has the past few days—past few years.
none of these people deserve paradise. none of them deserve a happy ending. not with jihyun gone.
she has been on a plane before. it's been quite a while though, so the experience feels almost new. but, it doesn't matter. she doesn't pay the flight any attention anyways.
she refuses to speak to anyone. she refuses to look at anyone. she feels completely and utterly betrayed by her own cousin, and is disgusted at the fact that he thinks he's doing the right thing.
snoring next to her is yoosung with his arms crossed and mouth open. disgusting. she wants to throw up. not because of him exactly, but because of the institution she is headed towards. is he seriously such a fool to think that this would help? stupid college boy. those video games really are killing his brain cells.
she doesn't understand why he would choose a flight in the middle of the night. doesn't he know that once she wakes up, she won't fall back asleep? they should've left in the morning— no. they shouldn't have left at all.
jihyun is back in korea. she should be back there with him. buried with him. this is wrong—what yoosung is doing. it's a sin. she swears it.
unable to sleep, she looks around the plane, noticing the multiple empty seats and sleeping passengers. so little people. did he chose this time because less were on it? is it because he is ashamed of her? she doesn't see why. there's absolutely nothing wrong with her.
"rika? aren't you tired?" his voice is deeper after sleeping. she wishes he stayed asleep.
she doesn't respond to him. she just looks out the window of the plane. at least he gave her the window seat. you did one good thing, yoosung. only one though.
"y—you should probably sleep," he says, concerned for her health. she barely slept before they came here. she can't possibly go without sleeping, right? "no. you should definitely sleep. it's too late to stay up."
stop worrying about me, she wants to scream at him but is stubborn and refuses to talk. especially to him.
"u—um. we won't be there for a while though, so please, try, okay?"

the date/time jumps around a lot, but i hope it isn't too confusing for you guys :) basically italics is before jihyun's death (in the secret endings), and regular is after his death.
