exaggerate and you and i.

he made her feel like she was loved. that she was capable of being loved—but only if she changed who she was. why did she promise to marry someone like him? someone who didn't love the real her: darkness and all. was that even love? was she just a pretty face who he saw in need of being saved? as she thought back to all the moments where he tried to show her the light, she realized just how much she loathed him and his morals.

but she loved him.

but she hated him.

"how was your relationship with jihyun kim?" the therapist was prying more and more, and rika dreaded these visits more and more. she didn't see how any of this was necessary. "he was your fiancé?" the therapist said in a questioning tone, but she already knew the answer to her question. rika saw this as a complete waste of time. "the sooner you show signs of recovery, the sooner you can leave, miss rika."

recovery? when there isn't anything wrong in the first place?

all she wanted to do was show these people who constantly felt like they were drowning in their problems and insecurities how to float. how to handle the pressure that came with living. how to love themselves. and this is what she gets in return? it's bullshit.

complete and utter bullshit.

"miss, you have a visitor. a mr. jumin han."

she hadn't heard that name since yoosung's visit, and before then, it had been many many months. why would jumin come to visit her when it was his idea to put her here in the first place?

"rika..."

for some reason, it being jumin who was visiting made her feel shame. shame for being seen in such a disgusting place. she was embarrassed.

but just like with yoosung's visit, she didn't say a word. she was too prideful to let him see how much his presence effected her.

yet she was also curious: did he miss her?

"i heard saeyoung had visited."

her eye twitched slightly at the name. but that was the only reaction she gave.

"he said that you didn't speak at all. why aren't you talking, rika?"

her throat felt like it was closing up. she could hear the pity in his voice; she loathed it. jumin han was the one person she didn't want talking to her in such a way.

"it's like i don't even know you anymore." she flinched. "i thought bringing you here would help... but you don't seem to want help." because she is okay. she doesn't need help. "so, what do you want rika?"

then, for the first time in months, she spoke:

"jihyun."

double update bc why not
