I reached into my pocket for some money. Only $10. Was that enough? Well, surely it is? We were buying weapons to use against the zombies.

We would buy at least three weapons. Then, we would go to the closest home - Jay's. He said it has machetes, knives, and many guns.

There were no zombies coming at us. We went inside the drug store, surprised to find it evacuated. Nobody was there. Zombies probably already attacked it.

Destiney went in first, of course. "Hello?" I heard her ask when I was inside. Jay followed me. "Is anyone here?" Destiney narrowed her eyes, grabbing onto Julia's arm.

"Ye," a voice answered. An elderly man came from a strong, scratched door. "Wanna buy weapons, eh? Well, we're CLOSED." He yelled the last part and pushed us out.

"Now, wait a minute," Destiney hissed, pushing him back. "We're not leaving until you let us buy some weapons! We have, altogether, $160."

"$160?" The man echoed. "Fine. But hurry up. Them zombies could be comin'."

We bought a Zastava M76, a double edge katana, and a pocket knife. It turns out we layer $95 in all. I gave my old katana to Destiney, who looked pleased.

"What about me?" Gavin demanded, glaring at Destiney's katana.

"You get the sniper gun," Destiney replied, shoving the gun into his hands and grabbing Julia's hand with her free one.

Gavin examined his gun, grinning. "Sweet!"

"Now get out!" The elderly man snarled, pushing us out and locking the door behind him. Rude! I thought angrily. But he did help us.

We left the deserted parking lot. No car was driving in the roads anymore. Did we really take that long? I asked myself, shocked by the devastation the zombies left.

I winced, seeing a group of dead, eaten-up people.

Julia screamed.

"What?" I gasped, gazing around with wide-eyes. There was nothing. "What is it?"

"Th-th-that!" Julia shrieked, pointing at the dead bodies.

Destiney rushed to her side and gently led her down the road, past the zombies. "It's alright," she whispered. "We know."

I followed them, after Gavin and Jay. Trying not to look at the bodies, I tightened my grip on the katana and instead looked around for any sign of movement.

"Here it is," Jay announced when we all reached a series of houses. It was a tall one-story house with glass windows on the doors. The door itself was a dark wood, standing out of the cream colored, painted house.

"It's really n-nice," I commented, my voice cracking. I wasn't lying; the house was beautiful! I can't wait to see the inside...

"Thanks," Jay replied.

We all stood still for a moment to suck in all the details. I noticed a crack in the paint outside, but otherwise the house itself was brilliant.

"Right," Destiney said indifferently. "Let's go inside." She waited for Jay to open the door and let us in.

When we were inside, the first thing I saw was a rusty old kitchen with black and white tiles and dusty cabinets. There was a long table nearby. The kitchen was connected with the living room, which was small with a giant, soft couch and a flat screen TV. There was a door to the bathroom. I could tell, because the door was wide open.
