It was late everybody had fell asleep,I was laying on the couch thinking to myself. I understood how Carol must have felt when Ed hit her, I can still remember when my ol'e man would come home drunk and beat me for no reason. I hated the looks I would get when I went out somewhere, Everybody knew but never spoke a word. I jumped up because I heard footsteps it was dark but I seen somebody coming down the stairs. It was Carol " I couldn't sleep " she said walking towards me. Yea I couldn't either I said.

I couldn't sleep, all I wanted to do was talk to the man sitting next to me. I never got the chance to thank you after what you done for me Daryl, It meant a lot Ed had beat me for so long and nobody ever stood up for me like that. " I know how it feels " Daryl said softly.
