Morning came I went into the bedroom to wake Carol up. Your going on a hunt with me today I told her. She jumped up with excitement in her eyes, she looked happy to spend time with me. I was happy to spend time with her too, She got up and got ready, grabbing her crossbow as we headed out the door into the woods. We'll be out til dark I told'er, "Fine with me " said Carol. We walked threw the woods for awhile. I spotted a deer about 50 yards away, I motioned Carol to look and be quite. I raised my crossbow but I felt a tap on my shoulder, " I want to " she said. Fine by me jus don't miss I joked with her, She raised her crossbow up and aimed it like I showed her, pulling the trigger letting the arrow fly hitting the deer. " I did it, I hit the deer " she squealed as she jump and hugged me. The fun is just startin now woman. " What do you mean "she asked. Now we gotta go track it, I told'er. We tracked the deer down the hill to the creek bed, were it had fallen Carol was standing there watching as I gutted it. I heard Carol scream I looked up to see a Walker grab her she pulled away, I jabbed my knife down into its lifeless skull. I put my knife back in the holster turned around I grabbed her pulling her into a hug don't scare me like that woman I thought you done got your ass bit on me. Come here let me check you for scratches, she turned her back towards me, your lucky I told'er. We decided to head back, on the way we seen a couple squirrels and rabbits takin turns killing what we seen, we made it back to camp around dusk. I hollered for Rick no response, Then Shane still nothing I walked over to the dinner tables and that's when I seen it......
