A New Beginning

💜Chapter 11💜Daryl's POV💜

The sun started to rise above the horizon as I got up and quietly stepped out of the truck. I left Carol sleeping in my truck, I'm growing so attached to a woman I barley know. I just feel the need to love and protect her from anything that could harm her or her daughter. I don't want her to hurt anymore, I want to tell her how I feel but I'm just nervous I'd never felt this way for anybody before. I heard Rick telling us it's time to roll out to find shelter and food. I jumped in the truck an started the engine following behind the group, we drove a couple hours until we came across a gated community the sign on the front said Shady Pines. Rick jumped out to see if it was locked, luckily the chain around it wasn't locked. He pulled the chain away from the tall black iron gates an we pulled the vehicles threw. Rick put the chain back around and we all stepped out of out vehicles to see all these huge houses. We cleared out 3 houses for the night. Rick, Lori, and Carl took one, Shane and Glenn took the second, I staid with Carol and Sophia to keep them safe in the other. Night came and Carol put Sophia to bed and came back to the living room we talked for a bit, She opened up a little more about her previous life with Ed. I didn't know how to tell this woman in front of me how much I cared. I just kept staring at her she was just so beautiful.
