Gumball's POV:

The truth was... I couldn't skate! And Darwin was flying down that hill!!! I put a foot on my board and skated down. "W..Whoa! I'm doing it!" I breathed. Never mind that! Focus on saving Darwin!!! "HELP MEEEE!" Came a shriek from Darwin. I flipped my board, letting the breeze hit me. I grabbed onto a car and flung myself, trying to go faster to reach Darwin.

Soon he flew down stairs, his arms clutched to his knees. Panic swept over me, but I reassured myself. I'll get him! I grinded on a bar and leapt off, flying fast, but I focused. I soon ducked under a car, Darwin's screaming ran through my head. I skated over our gym teacher and through Tina, avoiding her feet from crushing me.

I was almost to Darwin, he jumped off his board, but hopped back on because it burned his feet. I was soon beside him. "Jump!!!" I ushered. He shook his head 'No' in fear. I rolled my eyes and took a risky move. I leapt onto Darwin, he seemed to calm himself. "AAAAA!!!" We both yelled as a scooter was approached, it was nearly there. I jumped back onto my board, he jumped too, he sat on my shoulders.

We started going really fast causing us to scream. I felt him tighten his grip onto my shoulders. I gave a grin as we hit flat surface. "I can skate!!!" I yelled in triumph. Darwin let out a panicked scream, I saw it, a stone! We hit it and flew off. I gave a laugh. "You have to admit, I did good!" I smirked. His cheeks went pink and I smiled in return.

"That was pretty cool! And thank you!" He said joyfully as he hugged me. I felt my stomach go fluttery. No...I like Penny!!! It's probably just because of this crazy adventure! I forced myself to believe as I hugged him back, another smile tugged at my lips.

We got home, I felt proud of myself, yet exhausted. "Where were you two?" Asked Richard as they sat at the dinner table. I panted, Darwin told the story. "My boy can skate!" Richard said looking at me in awe. I nodded at him, feeling even prouder. "Good job Gumball!" Nicole said sweetly as she kissed my forehead. "Wow. You're actually good at something." Anais laughed teasingly. I rolled my eyes and then shut them, my heart pounding.

I headed to my room, I felt tired but I caught my breath. "I'm good." I whispered to myself as I opened my bedroom door, closed it, and threw myself onto my bed, giving a grin to myself. Today was cool, I learned a new talent I have. I thought to myself as I closed my eyes.

Someone emerged into my room, then shut it. I opened one eye. "Oh hey sis." I tiredly murmured picking myself up to invite her to sit beside me. "We need to talk." She pointed out, sitting beside me. "Wow that was definitely to the point but anyway what's up?" I questioned as I flicked my tail. "About Darwin and You." She said looking at me.

"My best friend and half brother ish?" I answered with a grin as I looked at her, she looked panicked, so I dropped my grin and held a steady, blank face. "You don't get it, do you?!" She asked with a huff of annoyance. I gave her a confused look. "Do you like him?" She asked changing her tone, so I felt more comfortable. "Well yeah! He's my best friend and we do everything together!" I said tapping her nose.

She looked at me and frowned. "No...Like...Do you like-like him?" She asked gently. I felt my stomach rock, that weird butterfly thing happened again which made my cheeks grow warm. "Anais, why?" I asked feeling the butterflies swarm, they felt like nipping pains. She looked to the floor.

"Just...you seem...attached to him." She choked out gently. I looked at her. "True, I'd be lost without him, but I've never thought about it that way." I mumbled looking at her. She gave a half smile. "I'll give you time." She softly said as she went out the door, closed it behind her, and was gone.

I was alone, I flopped onto my bed, and let my thoughts consume me. No...He's your best friend! You idiot! Why would you even think that?! A voice inside my mind growled. But.. What's not to like? I asked myself as I ran a hand through my hair. I sat up and blinked realizing what I just thought! Oh no you don't!

I raised a hand and slapped myself, shaking off my thoughts and walking downstairs. Nicole was ironing clothes, Richard sat on the couch watching Tv, while Anais and Darwin sat on the floor whispering. I shrugged. Maybe they just want time away from me? I went to my mother, and watched her iron her clothes.

"Hi honey!" She greeted me. Nicole was like Gumball, except an adult and a female, he had her looks but Richard's attitude. "Oh hey Mom." I replied as I watched the steam fly out of the iron. "Are you okay sweetie?" She asked tapping my shoulder, I must've zoned out. "Yeah, I think I'm going to get some fresh air, I'll be in the back yard!" I announced as I walked and opened the back door.

The sun was setting, casting an orange-pink glow around Elmore. I smiled and looked at it. "Hey Gumball." Came a voice that made my fur poof. "Hey Darwin." I greeted as he sat beside me. "Are you okay? You haven't talked to me since Dinner..." Darwin said giving a half smile, but it fell.

"Dude! I'm sorry. I just am confused with a lot." I said looking at him with a frown. I let my ears roll back, so I could listen to the world. "It's fine, I understand." Darwin looked at me with a nod. He got up to leave, but I grabbed his hand and I saw his face turn a shade of pink. "Wanna watch the sunset with me?" I asked hopefully. He gave me a warm smile and gingerly sat down. "Sure." He answered.

"Gumball?" Darwin asked me suddenly. "Yeah?" I asked him, eager for his question. "Tonight I want to talk to you about something important." He told me, grabbing my hand and pulling me up. I warmly smiled and met his gaze. "Okay." Was all I could say.
