Puppy

A/N: wowza it feels like ages since I wrote this

Summary: Dan and Phil get a puppy (duh read the title)

It was a cold autumn evening, Dan and Phil were sat on sofa in their usual browsing positions. Dan was scrolling through tumblr and Phil was looking at cute dog photos.

They had been thinking of getting a dog for a while and having recently moved into their own house Phil thought it was about time they did.
'Aw Dan look at this one' Phil squealed squeezing Dan's shoulder.
'Awh! Look at it's little face it's so adorable'

It was a shibe, it looked about six months old and had the cutest little face.
'it's only £500 Dan, we could bring him home!'
'Woah there Phil, it's a little soon to be thinking about getting a puppy...'
'But, look how adorable it is'
Dan sighed.
'please' Phil begged
'fine, I'll think about it'
'yay!' Phil jumped excitedly and wrapped his arms around Dan.

Later on, Phil was sat on his bed writing something. Dan walked in humming a little tune
'What are you doing there Philly?'
'erm, writing down... Dog names'

Phil looked up at Dan guiltily. To his surprise Dan didn't sigh or roll his eyes, he sat down next to him and kissed him on the cheek.
'You know Phil, I've been thinking that maybe you're right I think we are ready to get a dog, I mean you seem so excited about it and it would be nice to have a little friend to look a after'

'Really?' Phil couldn't believe it, he pulled Dan into a tight hug. Dan giggled and smiled at his boyfriend.
'So what names were you thinking of?'
'Hmm, let's see what about Susan?' Phil joked. Dan giggled and gave him a playful punch on the shoulder.
'We are not naming our dog Susan!'
'Ok then, what about Buffy?'
'Wow Phil you're so original with these names'

Both boys stopped and thought for a while.
'Hey, what about Toto?'  said Dan.
'hmm, Toto. yeah I like that!'
'Toto it is then'

It about a month later now, in early November, the two boys were on their way home. They had just been to pick up their new puppy. As they pulled up onto the driveway Toto let out a happy bark of excitement. Phil picked him up and carried him into the house, Dan trailing behind carrying about a million treats, toys and a dog basket.

That evening they lay there on the sofa watching a movie, Dan was snuggled in Phil's arms and Toto lay asleep on the end of the sofa. Dan looked up at Phil, who's eyes were fixed on the TV.

He then looked over at the corner where the dog basket was, it was covered with blankets and pillows and even had a little doge toy that a fan had given them.
'I'm so glad we did this phil'
Dan turned to face the dark haired boy.
'I know, look how cute he is'
Phil smiled looking over at him and looking back at Dan.

'Almost as cute as you' Dan smirked, leaning into his boyfriend and bridging the gap between them. Phil kissed him back playing with his hair and running his hands down Dan's back, which sent a chill down his spine.

All of a sudden Phil felt something licking his cheek...

It was Toto. Phil pulled away from Dan confused for a second, Dan burst out laughing, looking at his rather wet faced boyfriend who was feeling quite sorry for himself.
'Looks like Toto wanted to join in' Dan continued to giggle as Phil glared helplessly at him. 'He's just trying to share the love Phil'
