every day

i. this is a story about you and me
we met at the academy
you thought me popular and wanted to impress me
i thought you arrogant and wanted you not to be
we got along almost immediately
every day it was just you and me

ii. i dragged you into the field with me
you agreed and wanted a monkey
we shared sandwiches and kissed on the cheeks
i laughed at your stupidity
and you my idiocy
every day it was just you and me

iii. i left after our tragedy
not because i was ditching responsibility
not because i did not care about you and me
but because i could not hinder your recovery
they called me selfish
every day i thought about you and me

iv. i came back after recuperating
you said you needed time to think about we
by the time we were free from our misery
i got sucked into an endless abyss
you spent time to find me
every day i thought about you and me

v. now that we are free
we crashed back into reality
you believed you were devilish
i told you you were not free
you sat there with me
