now, i'll be quite blunt and say / i don't really think i will live to that age /
2050 – that is when i'll be 43 / the reason for my early demise would be the lack of trees /
global warming will have quelled the earth by then / all our hearts, utterly broken /
let's say that the world still remains / what's the point? gone is the beautiful terrain /
i might go around the world in a flying car... looking at the night sky / beclouded with pollution, no more stars /
i will see kids with no light in their eyes / no more wide smiles or care for their lives /
kids right now grow with no hope / what about kids then? will everyone be a misanthrope? /
i'll see racism, homophobia, misogyny, colourism, discrimination all around / prejudices in all sectors will abound /
corruption will thrive in politics / school shootings will rise and be eclipsed /
and look at what the powers are doing currently / executing innocent humans and propagating enmity /
the presidents may fly around the world in the future / but guess what, mr president? /
your world is a failure.— bluntly,
azade
