「Chapter Three」

And things had gone on without another incident. As weeks passed, Sugawara got less and less concerned over what (l/n) was doing. The previous incident had faded from his mind.

When he and Sawamura had gone separate ways on the way home, he didn't reflect on his near-death experience. Instead his mind wandered to volleyball. He thought again, almost bitterly about being replaced. Yet he knew he shouldn't be like this.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of someone running. He looked up and gaped at the sight of the VP running at him, once again dressed in her hoodie, mask, and sunglasses.

"Get down!" She shouted, but he was frozen in shock, unable to cooperate. She shook her head, before pulling out one of her pistols, and jumping at him.

She tackled Sugawara to the concrete, and he dropped his bag in the process. She laid on top of him, and looked up. She aimed her gun, before taking two shots. She scrambled to stand up, helping him in the process. She gave him his bag, before grabbing him by the waist ushering him towards a black car as they ran in the direction she came from. He noticed that it wasn't her black Lamborghini from yesterday, but it was another sleek black car. She grabbed the top of his head, and brought it down as a shot was taken at them. She opened the car door and shoved him inside, telling him to buckle up, and throwing the keys at him to start the car. She shut the door and took another shot, as Sugawara struggled to sit up and shove the key into the ignition. The car revved to life, after she slid across the hood, keeping her eyes and gun pointed ahead of her, before shooting one last time. She hopped in, before closing the door.

(l/n) immediately put the car in drive with the hand holding the pistol, making sure to keep her finger off the trigger. She slammed on the gas before the car zoomed off, immediately reaching high speeds. She struggled to buckle herself up with one hand, using the one holding the gun to steer. She let out a scoff of frustration, keeping her eyes trained on the rearview mirror. Her eyebrows furrowed at the sight of the car following them.

"Can you help me with this?" She asked, but he knew it wasn't a question. He took the seatbelt from her hand and buckled her up. "Take the wheel for a bit."

Sugawara gasped as he placed his hands on the wheel while she put on the safety of the gun before tossing it back. She nudged his hands off the wheel, taking it from his hands.

"Hold on tight," she muttered, putting her other hand on the gearshift.

She switched gears, and the car went even faster. She smirked at the sight of a turn, and brought both hands to the wheel. Sugawara almost screamed as they drifted to make the sharp turn, before zooming down the straightaway. The car following them was now further behind. It was almost dizzying how fast they were going. Sugawara was surprised to see the endless fields as they now drove down the highway.

The view of the sun starting to slowly set would have been beautiful were it not for the impending danger behind them.

(l/n) aggressively switched lanes down the empty highways, and looked in her rear view mirror. With one final glance, she kept her eyes on the road ahead of them.

Then Sugawara noticed that they were nearing the outskirts of town. It used to be full of industrial buildings and warehouses, but they had long since been abandoned. They passed by many empty warehouses before they made a turn into one of them.

(l/n) parked the car inside, and turned it off. Due to the open garage, and windows, the empty building was well lit. Sugawara looked at the VP nervously, and she glanced over at him.

"Stay in the car," is all she said, before unbuckling her seatbelt, and tucking her pistol away.

She opened the car door, and stepped out, shutting it behind her right after. She looked inside, and mouthed to her fellow third year to lock the doors. He did as he was told as she leaned against the hood of the car, stuffing her hands in the loose pocket of her pullover hoodie.
