「Chapter Ten」

It was a pattern that both of them had adapted to quite well.

(l/n) would show up to his house early in the morning.

She had been shocked the first time she showed up, and a cup of hot coffee was waiting for her.

Suga smiled at her, inviting her inside to let her drink the coffee he made.

However she surprised him the next day when she showed up with a pre-practice smoothie. She told him she looked up the best ingredients to use, and he drank it with pride. Then the VP started showing up to his house with pre-practice snacks, she eventually started bringing enough for the entire team. The team absolutely adored her because she fed them almost everyday. She'd done it so many times that she had been added to the team as their 'official snack provider.'

However (l/n) proved to be even better than they could imagine before announcing she'd get them an actual bus driver as opposed to just letting their teacher and coach drive them everywhere. The VP was pretty sure that Takeda cried when she promised him that she would cover all expenses.

Since she came to school so early, she could stay for practice at least a little bit before leaving for her Student Council activities. She would quickly peck Sugawara on the cheek before leaving, and the boys were impatiently waiting for an actual kiss between the two. However, they both kept the affection to a minimum, preferring the more subtle displays of affection.

They'd show up holding hands, and part with kisses on the cheeks. Sometimes she would bring a bento box for him or he would do it for her. Everything for them appeared so natural.

And they felt the same.

The way they acted was never planned. They acted on their own whim and their text conversations were filled with good morning's and good night's. Texts asking what they were doing, where they were, and how they were feeling. Texts announcing departures and arrivals. It felt completely natural, and they'd gotten just the slightest bit closer.

That was until Sugawara decided he would give her flowers. She told him that she wouldn't make it to practice, and to wait for her anyways. So he sent Sato to buy a bouquet of red roses. However she had showed up with a bouquet of red spider lilies, apologizing that the florist didn't have anymore roses. Sugawara thanked her anyway, sending her off, and waiting in the parking lot after the others had left to go the convenience store. There were no more cars left, and all of the teachers had already left. So it was just him.

(l/n) pulled up, and getting out of her car before running up to him. She opened her mouth to speak, but didn't get a chance to speak when he presented the bouquet to her. She was frozen, her eyes completely fixed on the flowers. She was completely stunned and didn't say a single word. It made Sugawara nervous because the VP was usually well-spoken.

"I got these for-" she cut him off almost instantaneously.

"I'd rather not. It's not that I don't appreciate the sentiment, but flowers aren't really my thing. They're too," she paused, giving him a forced smile before saying, "temporary. To be honest I'd rather find them in the trash than with me." She concluded, quite harsh with her rejection, pointing at the dumpster beside her.

"Why?" The question slipped from his lips, and he smacked a hand over his mouth, bowing in apology. He walked over, head held down.

"Kou, you really shouldn't ask questions-" but she cut herself off and her head tilted at the sound she heard.

She pulled Sugawara close to her, moving the both of them behind the dumpster as the sound of a shot was heard. His head shot up and he peeked to see two men in a car with guns pointed at them.
