"Wow this place is so nice! How did you know I like Chinese?", she asked. "I didn't .I like Chinese so brought you here", he lied. "No, you don't", she countered. "How can you be so sure?", he was curious. "Well, you may not have noticed it but years back we used to study in same college, infact we were in same arts club. I was your junior", she said timidly.

His heart skipped a beat, 'So she did remember me'.However he made sure that his face betrayed nothing. She continued, " People adored you. Infact when we were planning menu for monthly club party, few suggested Chinese food and all seniors cried NO. They all gave the unique reason that Omkara hates Chinese food".

They both laughed at her animated dialogue delivery. He told her, "It's not like I hate Chinese food. It's just less preferred. I like...". "Italian food. I know", she cut in. "So my friends in college told this also to all juniors at that time", he grinned. However her smiled vanished and she became serious, "No , they didn't. It's more like...from ...someone else.", she played with food.

"Rudy told you, didn't he?", he too grew serious . "Yeah, he told me how you both used to hog on Italian pastas prepared by your Mom. Sometimes even fight for it or steal from each other", she told happily. Omkara noticed Gauri's eyes, she was indeed reliving a sweet memory shared with Rudra. His brother would have been really close to her else would never had shared such a personal memory of their childhood.

Dammit!!!. Ofcourse they were close. Rudy would never have taken giant step of marriage unless he was serious about her, his mind reminded him. He became restless , "I am not hungry anymore. I will wait for you in the car", he paid the bill and left. Despite her aim to make him miserable , she felt bad for spoiling the evening.

Once they reached home, he helped her with shopping bags. As he said good night and was leaving, she stopped him, "Omkara, I am sorry. It was unintentional. Trust me". "I know Gauri. It may surprise you but I understand you better. It's okay. No hard feelings", he remarked. "You didn't have anything for dinner", she was concerned.

"Something will be in fridge. I will reheat and have it", he said. She diffidently gave him a parcel, "I didn't know whether you like desserts. But I guess nobody would say no to brownies. So got it for you". He was glad by her sweet gesture. He thanked her and took it. Before leaving the room, he kissed her forehead. She didn't pull back and knew she will never object to it coz it has become part of her life.

Omkara was sitting in hall on the plush sofa, watching a documentary on warplanes while enjoying the brownie. Gauri came to return his scarf, she was wearing pink night suit they brought today. "Have trouble sleeping?", he asked. She nodded. "Come, we will watch something. What do you prefer?", he patted seat near him. "Oh, I guess whatever you are watching will be uttering boring for me.Let's keep it running so that I will fall asleep soon", she humoured.

She sat a bit far from him , stiff & steady. Sleep was yet to pamper her. "Be comfortable, you can lean on me", he gently pulled her shoulder. Seeing her hesitation, he said "I won't bite" he paused sensing irony , added "unless you ask for it". They both laughed and Gauri moved to him. She felt warm being cocooned to his arms, she relaxed and her eyelids were getting heavy.

Though Om's eyes were on screen, he was no longer interested in the show. He was ecstatic with her proximity , trust and friendship. She looked so cute being in his arms. He slightly rubbed his chin on her forehead, causing her to open her eyes and their gaze met. Desire, anticipation, lust, dilemma; many emotions flashed in them. When he dipped his head , she met his lips half way, consuming each other in blazing kiss.

She clutched his shirt , pulling him closer. His hands went beneath her night shirt ,exploring her warm skin. His tongue sought contact with her. Gauri was soaked in pleasure. It has been long since she was kissed like this. Hell!! Who was she kidding ? She was never ever been kissed liked this. When he broke for gasping air , she momentarily lost magic of his touch thus helping her to regain her senses. She quickly pushed him and got on her feet.

"I ...I ... am sorry. That was... wrong", he apologized. She felt so low, so foolish and so angry at herself. She didn't know how to react. Knowing that offense is best way of defense, she chose that path. "Omkara, I know Oberois are very good at seducing and pleasuring women. I am well aware of it ", her words made him livid.

Is she still thinking of Rudra and his prowess as a lover, he pulled his fist and was tempted to break something nearby but her next words hit him harder. " I know what I signed up for when I accepted your offer. I also understand you have very low opinion about me and my morals. Just to clarify, I am not some cheap trash who will jump into bed with anyone".

He understood her angle and helplessness.  She was shivering when he came closer to rub her shoulders lightly. He made her look at him, "It was my fault. I am really sorry, Gauri". She felt guilty, "Please don't . I shouldn't have led you on". "Let's forget it. Hey, there is an extremely tacky horror movie going to play soon. Why don't we watch it and have good laugh?", she smiled at his suggestion.

They watched TV for some time and after few hours Gauri fell asleep against his chest. He adjusted their legs and stretched on couch, making her comfortably rest over him. He chuckled thinking that he had become accustomed to such awkward yet intimate sleeping arrangement.

"Ding", his blissful moment was interrupted by notification on her phone. He picked her phone wondering who could be trying to reach her at this hour of night. He read the message displayed on her phone screen and froze, 'Gauri, We need to talk. Call me when you get this. Rudra'.

He quickly deleted it and threw the phone away. Gauri stirred in her sleep but he calmed her, " Tum meri Jaan ho , Gauri. I will not let any harm befall on you". "I know, I feel safe with Omkara", she spoke in her sleep. Her sleepy words pacified him  "Hamein koi juda nahin kar sakta", he declared to his sleeping beauty.

Gauri's sleep was disturbed by constant ringing of doorbell. She lazily opened her eyes to find herself sleeping peacefully on Omkara. Being a light sleeper, her movement woke him. He glanced at watch and told her "Its still early , Jaan. Go back to sleep". He was about to close his eyes when she told him "Omkaara, somebody is at the door".

The bell rang again and this time he also heard it. He became alert. His staff had alternate entrance and never used main door. Who could it be ?, he thought. He went to the door and opened it. He froze looking at the figure standing infront of him. "Good morning , Mr. Omkara Singh Oberoi. Hope I didn't disturb you".
