"Koko, beta udh javo, it's almost 10. I need to go out", Ira tried to wake her up. "Mummy, let me sleep. I slept really late last night", Gauri said still in half sleep. Ira noticed the sleeping pill vial kept on her bed side table. She knew Koko was going through severe stress, Ira's treatment, debts, restaurant and now postponement of engagement. Nowadays she often sought help from these tablets to get some sleep. Maybe it's better to let her sleep, Will talk to her when she awake, Ira decided. "Okay beta, I will come back soon. Have breakfast when you wake up", she said to her.
Om had parked his car when he saw Ira leaving. He waited until she was out of sight. He came and knocked the door several times but no reply. You cannot hide by avoiding me, he was furious. He checked the premises. The house was away from normal population. It was in a calm and quiet area, devoid of disturbances. The trees around the house protected it further from outside view. He saw a window open on first floor. On a whim he climbed the nearby tree and got in to the room through that window. It was Gauri's room and he saw her sleeping peacefully. Great, after destroying my peace of mind she is having her beauty sleep, he thought angrily. As he came near her, he couldn't help gaze her lovingly. Sleeping beauty, he said. Painfully he recalled those days when she remained lifeless in coma while he awaited hopefully. He sat on her bed and caressed her cheeks softly. "Omkara", she called his named dreamily. He startled and checked whether she is awake. No, she called me in sleep, he understood. She pulled his hand into her palms and brought it near her bosom. "When did you come?", she asked without opening her eyes. "Hmmm. Ehh. Just...Just now", he answered unsure. She turned and rested herself against his chest, squeezing him tightly. "I missed you so much. You know I can sleep calmly only when you are near", she told confusing him. Still he kissed her forehead gently like he always used to do, "Sleep now, Gauri. I am besid you". Her even breathing indicated that she was in deep sleep. Omkara remembered their awkward but peaceful sleeping routine and grinned. He stretched beside her and soon fell into peaceful slumber.
"KoKo? Still sleeping. It's noon time beta. Wake up", Ira was knocking the door. Gauri woke up slowly, "I am getting up Mummy". She slowly got up and saw Omkara beneath her. For a second she smiled but swiftly squealed on realizing that he was real. Omkara too woke up with a start. "KoKo beta? Is everthing ok?", Ira called from kitchen. "Yea, Mummy. I will be there in a sec", she quickly bolted her door. "What are you doing here? How did you come here?", she asked shocked. " Are you serious? You so-called-mother is on verge of discovering me in your bedroom and you are worried about such petty things? Don't you think about important stuffs like shall I go down and tell her who I am or will you do the honours? ",Om asked calmly. "Shut Up, Omkara. Don't try to be smart. I can get you arrested for trespassing", she threatened. "May be. But what if I tell your Mummy that you let me in after she left and we were f**king eachother till now. Will she still call cops?" he asked. "She won't believe you. My mother trusts me", she stated. "Just the way I trusted you. My family trusted you", he accused her. She turned to blink back the tears brought by his sharp words. "Omkara, please", she pleaded. "I gave you another chance to meet me but you wasted it too. Perhaps this punishment will help you not to repeat it", he dashed to open the door and went downstairs. Gauri ran behind him but Ira already saw Omkara. Her eyes widened with shock to see a man emerging from Koko's room. He greeted her ,"Namaste Auntyji. I am Omkara Singh Oberoi. I am Gauri's...". "Past. I know Om. Yet I wonder why after so many months of absence , you made your presence now? ", Ira asked maturely. "To become part of her present", Omkara replied honestly. "Mummy, I can explain", Gauri was about say but Ira stopped her, "KoKo, go and freshen up. I need to talk to Om alone". Gauri knew her too well to understand that Ira will not yield to her pleas any more.
"Coffee?", Ira offered and Omkara nodded. "Did she tell you all about me? I mean us?", Om was anxious. "Actually she had told me next to nothing. But with age comes wisdom. I always knew that Gauri was nursing a broken heart", Ira replied. Broken heart and Gauri? Is she still not over Rudy? Wasn't she happy after avenging us?, Omkara wondered. Ira said again, "I have heard her mumbling your name in sleep. I guess during her first few weeks, she expected you to take her back. But slowly she adjusted, realising that you may never come". Poor woman, fooled by a wicked vixen. Gauri was not expecting me but feared that I will find her. She didn't adjust but was at peace when I didn't turn up, Om thought. "Why are you here, Om? Do you know she is planned to be betrothed to another guy?", Ira asked. The thought of Gauri with someone else made his blood boil, he still couldn't explain why. "Auntyji. If Gauri hasn't shared with you what happened between us then I don't have the right to tell you the same. I can just tell you that I am here to get her back. I wanted to talk to her but she is avoiding me. I hope you understand. I need to talk to her", Om told her earnestly. " Okay, I will ask her. But just talk, nothing more", she said strongly.
Gauri and Omkara was alone on a the deserted beach. On Ira's insistence and fear of Omkara's destructive reactions, Gauri agreed to meet him. However now the silence was killing her, Om seemed busy gazing at the rough tides and not interested to talk. She didn't dare to talk to him as she was aware what is in store for her. "Why did you leave?", he asked abruptly. She was happy that he was not facing her. "Those answers are not going to give you any pleasure", she replied vaguely. "Don't you want to give any justification from your side", he faced her now. She shook her head. His expressions hardened, "Good. Now I am crystal clear. It will be easier to deal with you". Ironically, she felt at ease with him, she still believed Om will always protect. The worst already passed. Whatever I have to face now will not be as horrible as it was, she thought bravely. "You are coming back to me. Don't be happy for it. It won't be like last time where I treated you like my queen. It will be more like a slave. You broke my heart and played with emotions of my family. Since you don't possess a heart or emotions, I can't pay back in same coin. So I will rob your dignity and shatter your confidence. I will ensure and enjoy that you will be destroyed the way you did to me", he said. Gauri noticed his eyes, though his words spitted venom, pain in them were evident. What have you done, Gauri? You have killed your Omkara, she realised painfully. " Go back, pack your bags, say farewell to all and come with me", he ordered. "No, I won't", she rejected vehemently. "I will never allow you to be with Kali Thakur. He will soon know the gravity of favour I did on him. Despite that if he still wants to help, one call from me and Shivaay will ensure he doesn't. Why do you want to drag an righteous man into your mess? I know you are neck deep in debts. You have no other go but to agree with me. About your so called mom and her problems, I shall take care of it. I don't mind squandering my hard earned money on charity", he said. "Ofcourse, I know. It's an investment. In return you will get to punish me", Gauri said sarcastically. Om smiled , "So we have an agreement". "Yes we do. I agree to disagree. I am not coming back to you. Period", she walked away. "You cannot run away from me, Gauri. All roads will lead to me", he smiled wickedly.
Gauri barged into her house, she was sad and angry. "Mummy, I am back and don't even bother to ask how it went with that ill-mannered guy", Gauri said to her mother. As she went to kitchen, she screamed, "MUMMY". Ira was found lying unconscious on the floor.
