Chapter 24

 

 "Ofcourse not Mrs Oberoi. Infact I was looking forward to meet you", she smiled confidently. "Really? I am impressed. You seem to have changed a lot", Jhanvi told. "As a matter of fact, I did. Though I paid a huge price for it, I learned my lesson. One had to fight for everything they love and care in their life", Gauri replied. Jhanvi realised that she was not the same Gauri whom she manipulated that fateful night.

FLASHBACK

As Annika & Priku left her to sleep, Jhanvi & Bhavya came for visit, surprising Gauri. Jhanvi bolted the door and folder her hands infront of her, "Gauri please don't spoil my son's life. You will bring nothing but ill fate to him". She was too shocked to talk when Jhanvi continued, "Today bcoz of you, Om and Rudy fought. It never happened, not even in their childhood. You will never keep yourself away from Rudy and Omkara will not bear it. Such sparks will eventually tear down by family". "I will never do such a thing. Me and Rudra, it's all over. Else I would have never agreed to marry Omkara", Gauri told them. "Don't lie, Gauri. I saw you both in each other's arms today", Bhavya accused her.  "That's just... Leave it. Bhavya if you don't trust your husband them it's your headache not mine, you deal with it" Gauri got angry. "Why do you want to marry Om? Are you in love with him?", Jhanvi asked. "I ... I don't know. May be", Gauri replied. "You May-be, is not a good answer for me Gauri. It's my son's life. You don't love him, neither does he. You are just an obstinacy for him. Once it wears off, you both will be unhappy ", Jhanvi told her. Gauri tried to defend herself but Bhavya tearfully cut in, "I would have left Rudy if his happiness was in you. But my child, it needs his father. Please understand", she wept and left the room.

Gauri called out Bhavya but Jhanvi pulled her back and scolded her again, "Don't you have a heart. Can't show some mercy on that poor girl and her unborn child". "Fine. I will call off the wedding. I will tell Omkara that I can't marry him", Gauri told in defeated tone. "Do you think it is that easy? I know my son well enough to tell that he will never allow you to leave him", Jhanvi was furious. "So what you want me to do then?", Gauri asked. "You need to break his heart. Do something to hurt him deep enough to uproot yourself from his heart and soul", Jhanvi told. Gauri agreed and wrote a letter as dictated by Jhanvi. She arranged a vehicle for Gauri to leave. As Gauri was leaving, Jhanvi handed over 50 lakhs to her but she refused. Jhanvi was quite surprised, "Gauri, take it. It will help to settle your future". "I don't need it. Your son, Omkara has done enough for me", she said . "I will ensure that Om never comes back for you. Even after that if he finds you, it will only bring trouble to you. So feel free to contact me for help, if such a situation comes up", Jhanvi asked her

FLASHBACK ends

"I never told him", Gauri informed her. "I know. It was Rudy who broke it to him", Jhanvi gulped her drink. "When you left, Om was shattered. I was wrong to assume that he will forget you. Bhavya felt so guilty that she confessed everything to Rudy. Rudy's anger almost broke their marriage. Then her miscarriage happened. Painfully I realised that I lost everything which I desperately tried to save", Jhanvi sounded sad. "You should try to talk to Omkara. He never admits but he misses you a lot", Gauri said. "I will try, Gauri. I am happy that you are with him", Jhanvi shared. "When I lost my child, I could understand you more. Most selfless and selfish person in this world are Mothers. Take care Mrs Oberoi. One day Omkara will realise that finally it was you who brought me back to his life. May be he will be able to forgive you then", Gauri's words astonished Jhanvi. Before she could ask her anything, Omkara barged in and pulled Gauri's wrist, "Mana kiya tha na maine inse milney se. Then why are you here with her", he turned to face his mother and told firmly "Don't you dare to harm her, Mrs Oberoi. Stay away from her , from US". He pulled Gauri inside and she gave a sympathetic smile to Jhanvi.
