"Mr. Oberoi, you wife is fine now. She is under observation and will wake once the medicines wear off", doctor told him. "Once she is awake, you need to console her. Miscarriages are not rare. Often unhealthy pregnancy meet such fate, it's way of nature. You both are young and healthy. By God's grace you shall be blessed again with kids. As a mother it may be hard for her to come in terms with it, you need to be stronger and take care of her", he said leaving Omkara in his misery. Doctor gestured to Rudra to go beside his brother. Rudy kept his hand on O's shoulder. He touched Rudy's hand and wept, "I killed my own child, Rudy. I am responsible for it". Rudy didn't utter a word, he let O vent out his agony. After some time when Omkara was calm, Rudy offered him a bottle of water. "I can understand your pain O. Trust me, I truly do", Rudra told. Omkara nodded his head, he understood that Rudy might have gone through similar suffering when Bhavya suffered miscarriage. "Thanks Rudy. But my case is different", Omkara told. "No , it isn't. It was my anger and resentment which triggered it all. When I came to know who was responsible for my brother's misfortune, I couldn't forgive her. I separated myself away from her despite knowing her delicate condition. Eventually she couldn't take it anymore and we lost our baby", Rudra told him. Omkara lifted his head, his reddened eyes questioning Rudy. "Haan O'. It was Bhavya. She was the reason Gauri left you before wedding day".
Her eyelids felt heavy as she tried to open them. Severe pain shot on her body, she winced feeling it and soft cry escaped her. Omkara who was drooping on nearby chair, quickly came near her. He held her hand and caressed her forehead. "Gauri, how are you feeling? Are you in pain? Shall I call doctor?", he asked. She looked around to identify her premises, involuntarily her hand went on her stomach and she asked him, a question he dreaded most, "how's our baby?". "You take rest, Gauri", he tried to dodge her. "I lost him, haven't I?", she asked emotionally. Om closed his eyes unable to meet hers. "You didn't save him", she stated tearfully . "I couldn't ", he replied helplessly. "Yes, you never knew. I failed to give him a chance", she told before losing conscious.
She got discharged after few days. When she woke again, she neither cried nor fought with Omkara. She looked calm, as if accepting her fate. But Omkara knew better. He was always beside never leaving her for a second. He was afraid, she may do something unthinkable. As they were packing to leave, she asked him, "Omkara , where is my white frock? I was wearing it that day. Hope they gave it back. It's my favourite". He nodded his head.Nowadays she talked a lot but most of it didn't make any sense. He chose to agree and not question her. She was always clinging to Om as if afraid that he may leave her. Omkara tried his best to assure her that he will be there always. Rudy drove them back to house, while Gauri rested her head on Om's shoulders. As they reached, Om took her upstairs to his bedroom while Rudy stayed behind making few calls. He kept her bag in wardrobe and turn to find her frozen staring at the bed." Gauri", he shook her. She woke from her trance and looked at him puzzled. "I will get your medicines from car. You take rest", Omkara went to Rudra. "Shivaay and Annika will reach by evening", Rudy informed. Omkara shrugged his shoulders. "O please, no more arguments here. Gauri needs help. You can't manage her alone. If Bhavya could travel, I would have brought her too. Besides Annika Bhabhi was closer to Gauri. Once Gauri is fit to travel, we need to take her back", Rudra suggested. "I will never bring her back to Oberoi mansion", he was adamant. "O, smoke", Rudra directed to his room. They ran upstairs to his room and found her sitting peacefully on the floor, observing the fire. The bed was on fire. She had burned her frock on it. "Gauri!!! Kya kiya tumne", Omkara quickly covered her in his arms while Rudy tried to douse the flames. "It was blemished. The stains were too tough to remove. That dress was useless, so I burned it", she told him and hid her face into him. Omkare was seriously worried about Gauri's mental health.
Banu served them lunch. Gauri was playing with her food. "Did you know Omkara, Banu has 3 kids? All boys, right Banu ? "she asked abruptly. Banu, Rudy and Omkara could just look at each other. They were all careful not to talk about kids before her. "Rudra, tumhe kya chahiye? Boy or girl?", she asked cheerfully. Rudra just gave a weak smile and tried to change topic, "Shivaay and Annika are coming tonight. Which room do you suggest for them, Gauri?". Gauri grew serious abruptly, "Why are they coming? I didn't ask them to come. Is your mother also planning to come soon?". Omkara quickly pitched in, "No Gauri, it's just two of them. They will stay for few days to give you company". "Kyun? Are you leaving me ?", she jumped from her seat, thrashing her plate. Rudy and Om were bewildered at her change in mood."Oh my God , you are leaving me. You are leaving me too. I will be all alone", she was hyperventilating. "Gauri, relax", Omkara tried to calm her but she swooned. "Please don't leave me, Omkara. Mujse naaraz raho par door mat javo. You can hate me as much as you want but stay with me", she was delirious as he laid her on bed. "Mein naraaz nahin hoon Gauri. It was never your fault. I am the guilty one. I love you so much, Jaan. I will never leave you, never ever", he promised her. "I am feeling so tired Omkara" her lips curved to a vague smile as she closed her eyes. He helplessly sobbed holding her hand.
"Om, take some rest. Annika will be beside her", Shivaay tried to persuade him. Om shook his head, "No, Shivaay. I can't take any more risks. I will stay with her", he gazed at his sleeping beauty. "We need to take her back soon. She needs better treatment and care", Shivaay said. "I will never come back to Oberoi mansion. A place where my dreams were shredded into pieces ", Om was obstinate. "Your brothers still live there and we always cared for you", Shivaay argued. "Then help me, Shivaay. Help me to gather the broken pieces of my life", he begged his brother. "We will get through this, Om. I promise, we all are in this together", Shivaay consoled. "Hann, O. Remember all for one , one for all", Rudy came in and joined them. Their brief Obro moment brought smile to Omkara.
Surprisingly Gauri warmed up to Annika quickly, much to Omkara's relief. Her fear of losing him was slowly fading away, things were moving back to normal. At one night, they were having camp fire and Rudy managed to pull his funny antics making Gauri laugh. Omkara was mesmerized by her laugh, Annika gave hi-fi to Rudra and Shivaay was content to see Om's happiness. Within few minutes her laugh subsided and she glanced at every one. She expression changed, "I am such a bad mother. Not even a month passed since I lost my child and here I am enjoying with you". "Gauri..", Om tried to reason. "Your mother was right, people like me don't deserve love", she quickly walked back home. Shivaay gestured and Annika followed her. Later at night when Omkara came beside her, she rolled on to his chest, "You won't leave me, will you?". He realised painfully that her fear has returned, perhaps much stronger.
Annika and Gauri were in kitchen. Annika noticed that Gauri was looking here and there. "Did you hear that?", Gauri asked. "Hear what?", Annika asked back. "A boys voice", Gauri was searching for it. "I can't hear anything, Gauri. May be you imagined", Annika tried to assure her. Fear in Gauri's eyes made it evident that she was not convinced.
