Y/N'S POV

Two months. Two months since Dylan and Aubrey started dating, and two months of Dylan ignoring me, his own best friend. The first few times of him canceling on our annual Friday movie nights for Aubrey, I let him slide. Then right after the fifth time of bailing out on me, I knew it was his girlfriend who was getting in the middle of our once wonderful friendship.

For Mason to be a typical annoying older brother, he even noticed my mood had changed and he would always make sure I was alright everyday before he left for work.

I wasn't a normal teenage girl who could run to her mom at any time of the day with boy troubles. Because first of all my mother died when I was eleven and ever since then I've been living with Mason who treats me as his sisters, but sometimes his daughter.

"Miss. Y/L/N, would you care to share what's so interesting about your daydream with the class?" Mr. Clemons, my Math teacher, questions rudely, earning a few laughs from the other students in the class.

I shake my head slightly, avoiding eye contact with him. "No sir, sorry."

"Don't apologize to me, apologize to the class from disrupting the lesson with your girly dreams." He states, and my eyes begin to brim with tears as I feel somewhat embarrassed by the unnecessary comment.

Not having a chance to apologize like I was told, the school's bell rings signaling all the students that it was time to go home. I hurriedly gather my two textbooks and slide one strap of my backpack on my shoulder before speed walking out the classroom. Finally making it out of the hellhole, I begin my short journey to my car in the school's parking lot, humming a popular tune along the way. All though, my soon excited spirits go down hill once I see Dave's familiar figure leaning against the hood of my car.

"Would you mind getting off my property so I can go home?" I ask, not really wanting his presence to worsen my attitude.

Dave glances up from his phone, sliding it down into his pocket once he notices that it was only me. "I actually need to talk to you.."

"Yeah, no thanks." I say, climbing into the drivers side of my vehicle.

"Come on, Y/N." He whines. "I was going to take you to your favorite coffee shop up the street."

I look into the eyes that I'm still in love with, trying my best not to fall in a little trap. "Mason and I have plans once I get home."

My false statement works as Dave nods, stepping away from my car, giving me a chance to drive off. My eyes move over to the rearview mirror, my attention instantly going to Dave was throwing a temper tantrum in my school parking lot.

THIRD PERSON

Y/N sat at the circular dinning-room table, chewing up the last bit of her dinner, alone. Mason had a late shift tonight which left her home all by herself, even though she didn't mind the fact that she got to have a little more me time. Once she washes up her plate, she stalks off into the living room, ready to watch a couple re-runs of How I Met Your Mother. Propping her feet up on the coffee table, her feet accidentally knock over a frame that sat on the table.

"Whoops..." She trails off, setting it up back upwards. The lonely girl pauses though once she realizes that frame held a picture of her and Dave. His arms were wrapped around her waist from behind as both of them shared wide grins with the camera. Y/N slightly frowns before moving her attention back tv.
