Chapter 9

Cassidy's POV:

Waking up to the feeling of something poking my face. My eyes flutter open to reveal a wide awake Stacey poking my nose.

"Wake up, its mowning Cassy!" She whispers.

"I can see that Stacey. Did you sleep well?" I asked her.

She nodded her head smiling.

"Good, now how about we go to the kitchen I bet you're hungry." I said slowly crawling out of the fort. She followed behind me quickly.

"Yes please, I'm stawving." She said rubbing her stomach.

I laughed quietly as we made our way to the kitchen.

Picking her up sitting her on a stool.

"Okay Stacey, what do you want for breakfast?" I asked her leaning against the counter.

She hums putting a hand under chin indicating she's thinking.

"Pancakes!" She yells out lifting her arms up in the process.

I laugh shushing her, not wanting to wake Eric up anytime soon. She covers her mouth with both of her hands as she giggles.

I head towards the pantry looking for the pancake mix, which didn't take long to find. I decide to grab some chocolate chips just to make it more fun for Stacey.

I come back setting them down on the counter top moving on to the fridge getting out the milk eggs and butter.

Bringing them to the counter where Stacey had already found the chocolate chips and managed to stuff some in her face. She stopped when she noticed me approaching her and smiled at me as if she did nothing.

Turning to where the stove was to get the mixer bringing it to the counter so I can place all the ingredients in.

Just as I was going to pour the pancake mix in the measuring cup a little voice startled me.

"Can I help?" Stacey asked making a pouty face.

I pretended to think about it for a moment rubbing my chin in the process. She brought her hand up pleading and to put the cherry on top she make those beautiful green eyes big and sad.

I chuckled,"Of course you can, sweetie."

Her pouty face turned into a big toothy smile.

"Yay!" She squealed.

I shake my head at her reaction. I blame the pouty face she made. Gosh darn it. I wonder where she gets it from hm...

We get to work right away. Stacey cracks the eggs on the bowl with some egg shells going along with it. I take them out before adding a cup of flour in along with the milk. Stacey was about to pour in the chocolate chips but I stopped her just in time.

"Ah ah ah, these will go in after we mix the batter otherwise they will be mixed in with it and it'll no longer be chocolate chip pancakes okay." I told her.

Her mouth shaped to a 'o' realizing what she was doing as she put them down on the counter waiting for me patiently.

I make sure that the whisk is on right on the machine before turning it on, letting it do the mixing.

It didn't take long for when the batter was ready to be put on the pan.

"Chocolate chip time!" Screamed Stacey.

I giggled as she began to sprinkle chocolate chips all over the batter.

Once she was done doing her little magic. We moved over to the stove placing the pancake batter on the counter while Stacey dragged her stool so she would be next to me.
