The next morning came pretty quickly and I was already on my way to school. I parked the car on my usual spot and walked lazily to my locker.

Anna was waiting there, casually leaning against it as she ate the red apple she held in her hand. When she saw me approaching she grinned with her mouth still full.

"Pig, don't open your mouth when it's full." I made a disgusted face but it didn't seem to affect her at all. Instead of saying a comeback to me she surprisingly decided to ignore it.

"Good morning Rachel darling! How's your morning going?" She asked in a way more cheerful way than usual making me raise my eyebrows in suspicion. I took out the books that I needed for first period and leaned on the locker across from her.

"Fine, thank you?" I said the last part in a questioning way. "What's with the stupid grin on your face?"

My question seemed to make her grin wider.

"I'm going at Dan's tonight." I frowned at first but then my eyes widened as I understood what she was hinting on.

"Are you saying what i think you are saying Saint Mary?!" I half whisper-yelled. Getting what I was talking about Anna frowned deeply.

"No idiot, he asked me to meet his parents." She said the last part excitedly and made a squeaky noise. I laughed at the sound that she made as I got her in a tight hug.

"That's amazing, he's taking your relationship to the next level." Anna nodded furiously.

" I know, and to think that for a moment I thought he wasn't being serious about us."

The bell indicated the end of our small talk as it roared loudly through the halls.

"We'll continue this later." I said quickly and turned around to leave. She grabbed my arm before I could take a step though.

"I'm probably gonna be a little late at lunch cuz Mrs Jennet needed my help with something." I nodded.

"Fine just text me if you don't make it to lunch."

"Yeah, I will."

With that she let go of my arm and I half ran to class because I was late. Luckily I got in just as the bell rung. I sat in my seat but not before checking the last row. I noticed the he hadn't come yet even though the bell had rung. Mr. Michael started to explain the lesson and everyone got quiet.

I kinda expected him to come in the middle of the class, like he had done yesterday but he didn't. This time my anticipation went to waste because the new guy didn't come to class at all.

Second and third passed quickly and the bell indicated it was lunch time. I started walking towards the cafeteria but I just wasn't feeling like socializing at all so I made a turn and climbed the stairs that led to the roof of the school.

I don't think any other student has been here or at least comes here. That probably is because it's not such a well known place. I got to find out about this staircase when a teacher sent me up here to get something that he needed. He showed me the directions and told me not to worry because the door was always open. When I got up here I thought it was a mini paradise. It was so quiet and although it wasn't that well kept, I fit right into this places' calmness. Such a reserved and quiet place in the middle of a hype teenager filled school. I have kept this place as my own secret location when i needed to be alone ever since then.

I opened the door that let outside and inhaled the fresh air as soon as I felt it hit my skin. They also have an old swinging bed here, maybe not in the best condition but in a fine one, and I love reading on it. I started walking to the swinging bed when the smell of cigarette smoke went through my nostrils.

I slowly turned my head to where the smoke was coming from. There, with one leg up on the roofs surrounding pavement I saw the 6 foot dark boy taking a puff out of his cigarette. I watched him inhale the smoke inside his lungs and then exhale slowly.

As if sensing my presence he turned his head a little bit to the left, then to confirm my presence he turned his whole body. I froze. I felt nervous. His eyes bore into mine before leaving them, to explore further. They roamed my body all the way down just like a predator watched his prey. My embarrassment did its job and I blushed furiously before looking down.

"I-I'm sorry, i didn't know that-that anyone was up here. I w-wouldn't have disturbed y-you if I knew." I rambled like an idiot. Good job miss parrot mouth!

He didn't reply but I did see his tall shadow approach until he stood no more than a meter away from me. I couldn't handle the curiosity to watch him up close anymore so I lifted my head up. Slender fingers wrapped around the white and gold cancerous stick rose up to his lips as they opened to let the health harming smoke in. He took a long puff before throwing the cigarette on the ground and stepping on it.

Only now did I notice that his eyes were a beautiful forest green and that there was a soft smell of cologne surrounding him. He caught me looking and a slight smirk made its way onto his face.

Not a word was shared between us so I started feeling a little awkward.

"What's your name?" I heard that deep voice ask slowly. I gulped and picked up that little confidence I had left before speaking up.

"Rachel" I replied as he simply nodded.

"Xander" that single name rolled out of his tongue with charm...almost elegance.

With that he turned around and made his way towards the door of the campus  leaving me on the rooftop.

Finally! What do you guys think?
