The next morning surprised me with a pop quiz in maths. Just what I needed. I don't think I did bad, actually I knew almost everything but just the fact that it was a pop quiz annoyed me. Why can't teachers be civil and not sneaky little bastards when it comes to tests? I mean would it be that bad to actually say something about pop quizzes a day before we were gonna take them?
"Did you guys have a pop quiz in maths?" Anna asked as she put her tray down on the table. It was lunch time and we were all sitting at our usual table. Me next to Jonny and Anna on his other side.
"I did horrible! I left like 3 questions out of 13 blank." She continued not even bothering to wait for a reply.
"Well pop quizzes are not for pop heads." Jonny hit her with a grape making Anna glare at him.
"Oh you didn't..." She hissed at him. The next thing I know Anna grabbed the bunch of grapes from Jonny's tray and started throwing them at him one by one. Well five by four too. Whatever she got her hands on.
"Stop you freak! I'm wearing my jersey, grape's not washable!" Jonny kept yelling at her but it only seemed to keep Anna going even more. The girls at the table were laughing their asses off while I was trying to knock some sense into Anna as they were making quite a scene and it was for sure that the teachers were gonna be here in a matter of time. After all these floors don't clean themselves.
"Cut if off guys! The teachers are coming." That seemed to make Anna finally stop and sit down.
"Don't mess with the Saint!" She puffed and got her tongue out. Jonny gave her a glare but didn't really reply.
I laughed at them and continued to eat my slice of pizza.

"Hey Reach I'm just outside of the schools parking lot." I heard Kate's voice over the phone.
"Yeah coming." I hung up the phone and started making my way to my mother-in-law's car. Today is gonna be hell. I can already sense it. Shopping is really not my thing, unless we're talking about Vans or some nice tee shirts. Not only were we not shopping about those but I was also going shopping with my newly declared mother-in-law.
I heard a cars horn and turned my head to the left to see Kate waving at me from inside of the car. I made my way to the white Range and got in the passengers seat.
"Hey sweetie." Kate greeted me with a kiss on my head. "How was school?"
"Same as always." I answered her quietly. It's not like i have spent that much time alone with Kate after all. It's always been her, my father and I. Rarely just us. I could at least try to have a little fun with her.
"Do you have an idea on what you're going to get or are we starting our search from zero?" She asked me as the car pulled onto the Main Street.
"I don't want anything too flashy or too short or too long or too fancy or too big or-"
"Or you don't want a dress at all." Kate interrupted me laughing.
"That would be better." I laughed. She did as well and the rest of the car ride was filled with small talk here and there.
----
"How about this one?" Kate showed up with a blue short dress in her hands. Does she really expect me to wear that? Does she even know who I am?
"No. It's too short and I don't like the color."
"But isn't blue your favorite color?"
"Yes it is but not that shade of blue." The dress is a very light blue color which isn't really my favorite. It's not just the color it's the fact that I don't like it being that tight and short either.
