Alex's POV
I rushed to the hospital in a full on panic. I ran into the hospital and up to the lady at the counter. "Where's my son?!" I yelled, still in a panic. I had to tell her my son's name before she was able to tell me his room number.

I immediately ran into his room. There he was, lying in a hospital bed and surrounded by machines. I walked to his bedside. "Phillip..." I said holding his hand. "...P-Pa..." Phillip coughed. He's looks terrible.

Phillip began to speak but I cut him off saying, "Shh.. Save your strength.. And stay alive.." Right at that moment, my husband, John, rushed into the room. "Is ok?! Is he going to survive this?! Alexander what--" He was cut off by Phillip.

"...D-Daddy...?" I stepped out of the way, so John could sit on the edge of Phillip's bed, holding his hands. "I'm right here.. Daddy's here.."

Phillip coughed then said, "...I-I'm sorry I f-forgot what you t-taught me...I-I'm sorry I h-have to leave..." John held our son close saying, "It's ok, Sweety.. It's not your fault.."

There wasn't a response, just the never ending, monotone beep from the heart monitor. John slowly let go of Phillip, standing up. "Ph-Phillip..?" Nothing. John collapsed onto Phillip, holding him close and sobbing. I tried to gently hold John's hand, but he pulled away.

*1 Week Later*

John's POV
It's been a week since my precious son died. In my arms no less. I was heartbroken. I haven't spoken to Alexander since Phillip died. Maybe I should speak to him soon. We do still live in the same house after all.

It was late at night, Alexander was standing in the garden still. I slowly walked out to him, standing by his side. Alexander was gazing at the stars. I gazed with him and slowly grabbed his hand, holding it tight.

Alexander looked at me, and I looked right back at him, a soft, forgiving smile on my face. "It sure is quiet out here.. Isnt it?" I said. Alexander hugged me, swinging me around. We laugh. Oh how I missed his adorable laugh.

We both laid down in the grass and gazed at the stars. "Just think," Alex said, "our son is watching us right now from Heaven.." I smiled and said, "I'm sure he'd be proud.."

Alexander held me close, saying, "I love you, John.."

"I love you too, Alex.."
