Forsythe knew she'd be here. He listened to her conversation with Alice Smith in English. He then found out from some other kids that it was at Hal Cooper's house uptown. So, of course, he rallied his men to storm the house and raise hell. Of course, she'd be here. He knew that she'd grow bored and want to leave but Alice wanted to make sure Hal was in her pocket. So he waited. He waited for her to come out side, light a cigarette, they'd talk and he'd drive her home. Although he knew it wasn't going to be that simple. It never is with her.
Maria seemed quite shocked to see him so cool in the pale moonlight. He looked cool. He was always very calm and collected and she had never seen him lose his temper. As casually as she could, Maria began to walk outside, taking a cigarette out of her bag and lighting it. Inhaling the toxic air relieved her stress. She saw he parked near a dimly lit street lamp and as graceful as she could she leaned against it, smoking her cigarette.

The two stared at each other for a while. It seemed like a game. Their eyes dancing and taking in the other. She could feel that familiar heat pulsing through her body.

"Didn't take you for much of a party girl Reynolds," he smirked at her knowing exactly how to coax her into the car. He needed to play her kind of game. "Then again I'm sure there is a lot of things I don't know about you."

Maria let out a short laugh before inhaling and exhaling the poison stick. She looked around before answering "Probably not, then again why would you care? You're probably just after a good fuck." There was a hint of venom in her tone. The young man let out a short chuckle before slowly swaggering towards Maria. His dark eyes never left hers and soon he was close enough to touch, to feel the heat radiating off him. Maria could feel the pull towards him, the want.

"Well, if you're offering-" Maria interrupted Forsythe with a roll of her eyes as she stood up straight, her eyes meeting his before she squared up and spoke with such venom that it made the Southside serpent shiver. She could feel his hot breath fanning her face as she stood before him, she fought every urge in her body to kiss him. They weren't romantically involved but Maria was quickly getting bored of this cat and mouse game she was playing with him, she wanted more.

"You should watch yourself, kid." with no more than a glance she walked towards his truck and began opening the door to the passenger seat. Before she climbed into his truck she heard Forsythe call out to her.

"Who are you calling the kid, Dollface."

With matching smirks the two teenagers got inside the truck and Forsythe started driving. They sat in silence for the whole ride, Maria wasn't sure where they were going but she didn't care. No she loved the feeling he was giving her, the warmth he emitted within her and she would be lying if she said she didn't feel anything towards the young serpent. Forsythe felt the same. He felt the same heat and the same pull towards but he had studied Romeo and Juliet long enough to know what she wanted. She wanted love. Something worth dying for. He wasn't sure whether or not he could give her that so he drove to Pops. The beautiful diner just before the Southside. He knew that if he sat there long enough he could work her out, unwind the mess of wires that was Maria Reynolds.

When they arrived at the diner they both jumped out and headed inside. It was quiet at that time of night and luckily for them, Pop didn't shut till two in the morning. They greeted the well-loved owner of the diner who was young and only a few years older than them. Maria chose the booth and Forsythe ordered them a plate of fries and two chocolate milkshakes. The brunette let out a short laugh when her milkshake arrived.

"Why chocolate?" she asked, he could see mischief playing in her eyes like an old movie he had seen a hundred times before.

He took a sip from his glass, the coolness of the drink sank down his stomach and cooled his temperature. "You seem like a chocolate girl, you aren't sweet and soft like a strawberry but more of a rich sweetness," he explained, their eyes latched onto each other. Maria slowly opened her mouth to speak  "Why did you choose chocolate?" she spoke in a soft whisper that made Forsythe shake. The intensity of her gaze and the softness of her voice made him melt, he couldn't comprehend what she was saying until he looked away for just a second.

"I prefer the rich sweetness," he spoke simply, their stares never faltered as Maria let out a shaky breath. For two years they had been playing the game of cat and mouse. This was nothing new. He would say such things that made her heart jump into her throat and made her seem light headed but soon enough he would pull from the game and blank her. That was how he would push her away.

The pair sat in silence for the next moments. The moments turned into an hour and soon they had devoured the fries and the milkshakes before Forsythe drove Maria Reynolds home. He parked outside her house and they both stared at it.

"End of the line." She uttered, her eyes seemed sad for a flicker of a moment. Forsythe knew what she meant. The pair would reach this moment and each time he would say something stupid, she'd get mad, they'd argue and would return to the beginning.

"Not this time." he mirrored. That was when Maria looked over at him, her heart thumping as their eyes met. She could see he meant it but she didn't believe him. So without another word she slipped out of the truck, said goodnight and left. Forsythe sat there for ten minutes, he was thinking about her.

Yes, he had studied Romeo and Juliet long enough to know that if anyone was worth dying for it was her. Even if they end in burning tragedy.
