          “So, how was school?”

          “Good.”

“Didn’t get into any trouble, did you?”

          “Not from what I remember.”

          “That’s good.”

          “Yep.”

"Cupcake?" I asked as I went to grab some for myself from the table decorated with food.

"Nah," Sid said. "Had some dance lessons today?"

"Why do you say that?" I said with my mouth full.

"You're doing the robot." He stood up and demonstrated how I was apparently acting like. He looked absolutely ridiculous.

"I am not doing that." I said. I leaned forward to get another cupcake in a stiff robot movement. "Okay, so maybe I am. But robot moves are in now, see?" I started doing some moves by trying to move my arms here and there but Sid shook his head.

          "Dude, what happened?"

          "Dodge balls."

"Still unable to dodge 'em?" He asked and I nodded. "I see."

So Sid had come over to visit me whilst mum went to pick up Jamie from his Piano lessons. Mum had grounded me from inviting any of my friends over, but Sid wasn’t my friend, he was my brother, therefore he didn’t really count. The two us sat in the living room whilst the TV played Top Gear. I wasn’t even watching it anymore because Sid and I had gotten so caught up in our conversation and taking funny selfies on my phone.

"So, what's up with school? Has the head teacher been dancing around with joy all day now that i'm gone?" I asked.

"It's boring, man. You just had to get yourself kicked out. And nope, he's looking for a new enemy student."

          We both laughed.

Sid smiled. “Anyway, I’m going to go now. Your mum’s going to be home and if she catches me, she’ll tell my mama and mama said she’d make me camp out in the garden if I went to your house without your mum's permission.”

“I’ve always wanted to camp,”  I said.

“Not naked, you don’t.” Sid shuddered as if he was recalling some painful memories.

“But, who cares? Mum said no friends; she didn’t say anything about brothers.”

Sid stopped to think and sighed. “I guess you’re right man.”

Just then, we both turned our heads to the direction of the front door as we heard a knock  followed by two voices.

“Hello?” It was Jamie’s voice. Damn it, they came home fast. Wait, maybe he had come alone like last time because usually mum would open the door with her keys.

“Jamie, stop knocking, I’ve got the keys.”

           Or not.

I began to panic so I stood up and paced the room and accidently knocked over the lamp that once sat on a brown, wooden table. My mouth opened with shock and swallowed. I think I was going to cry.
