It's not safe to be up
at 2 AM.
Will you ever forgive me
Would I give it all
to go back,
or to want to go forward
Would you give as much for me
as I have laid on the the table for you
right now
Do you ever lose sleep
Do ever wonder
where you're going from here
Do you ever say nowhere
Do you ever think
Maybe the hell we've gone through
is the only glimpse of heaven
we'll ever get
Do you ever miss me
or us
or yourself with me
Do you ever get lost
trying to find all the answers
Do you ever ask the mirror
I'm sorry, have we met before
Do you paint fanciful pictures in the silence,
or worse:
Does the mirror answer
I personally find reflections to be
extremely tough conversationalists.
Do you ever blame yourself
I miss me.
I miss you.
Is my façade as thick as I think
or do you think
all your suffering has paid off
Do you tell yourself
you're getting your long earned prize
Do you tell yourself
I'm getting my long earned
something
too
How did we ever make this work
How could you ever forgive me
Do you ever want to
Do you ever just go forward
because
you don't know
how to
stop
?
