"We got into a bar fight." he says as he hands me the bag of frozen peas.

"What do you mean 'we'."

"I mean, you were being stupid and walked closer to a bar fight, tried to break it up, but got caught in the middle, and then you passed out because one of the guys punched you in the face, so I walked over and took care of things."

"You took care of things? What's that suppose to mean."

"That's my business, not yours."

"I don't like you." I tell him without a care.

"If it makes you happy, I don't like you either. I'm only here for Abby. She's the real deal." he looks over at Abby and shoots her a wink. I make the most disgusted face ever.

"You didn't have to take me home last night. I was fine."

"No you weren't. You were drunk off your ass and you were grinding on everybody who was around you. You even tried to get down on me, but luckily I didn't let you." he smirks.

"Whatever. I can take care of myself from now on."

"Fine. Until you need my help I won't be there." he walks off to the door.

"You don't need to be" I yell towards him as he slams our door shut and heads to his own.

"Awe why did you send him away. We were having such a good time." Abby looks at me with a sad puppy dog face and I just stick my tongue out at her.

"He's an ass." I reply.

"He has a nice ass." she laughs.

"You're gross." we both laugh and I head to the kitchen to get some breakfast. Hopefully some makeup can cover up the purpleness around my eye. It'll still look swollen, but at least I won't look like a plum.

I head to room 315 for class. Today we're learning about how to treat the patients needs. I already know how, but a little reminder would be nice.

After class I head to the grocery store to pick up some things for dinner later, and for the rest of the week. Tonight I'm making Alfredo for me and Abby. Hopefully she likes it.

At the checkout line I see somebody I don't want to see. In high school I dated this guy, and he was nice at first, but things got worse, and by worse I mean physical. Yeah I've had a rough past with guys. That's why even if Matty ever did like me, I wouldn't let him because I'm this troubled girl, and there are a lot of things that need fixing, but nobody can fix it.

As I reach the front of the line, he looks at me and smiles while leaning against the exit door, but I don't send one in return.

"Had a rough day?" he asks, while I'm setting my things in the conveyer belt.

"I guess you could say that." I say quietly so he doesn't recognize my voice.

As I'm leaving I feel him walking behind me. I'm so scared I can't even move.

"I remember you, little miss V, V for Vanessa. Do you remember me?" he questions stopping me and him both, leading us towards his car.

"Please don't hurt me." I whimper.

"Why would I hurt you baby. We're buds, remember?" he laughs.

"Please just let me go back to my car."

"First, I want to do something." he leans in giving me a big smooch on the lips. I try to force him away but he doesn't budge. He was always so strong and tall.

"Please...stop." I feel his finger tracing my leg, making it's way upward. He lifts my shirt with his hand and rubs his hand up and down my body, caressing me.

"Get off her!!" I hear a voice from behind I thought I recognized. It was Matthew. I see the fight sprawl out to the middle of the parking lot. I tell them to stop, but a clerk manager walks out and breaks the two of them apart.

As I'm headed back to my car with my things, I look over to see him glaring at me. Johnny was his name. He wouldn't stop staring, so I climbed into my car without a hurry.

While I was making Alfredo, I felt a hand on the back of my shoulder and I freaked out until I realized it was Matthew. I'm glad he was there to help, but I told him he didn't need to be, and now I feel like a little girl who couldn't defend herself.

"I'm sorry about earlier." I whisper to him. "You didn't have to do that for me."

"I did though, and he could have hurt you. Who is he?" he questions, but I'm not about to tell him all of my secrets.

"Nobody. Really." he looks at me but I know he doesn't believe me. "Just leave it alone, please." I whimper.

He walks towards the door and leaves.

"What was all that about?" Abby asks.

"Nothing."

"Are you sure, you can tell me anything you know."

I know that I can, I just don't think I can without breaking down. I want to tell her, truly I do, but what if she tells Matthew. I don't need anymore guy drama in my life, although it seems I already do.

"We'll save his chat for another day, okay." I tell her and she looks at me with a smile.

"Okay."

After dinner I head to my room and sit in the bay window. It's nice in here. It feels safe. Heading toward my bed I notice I received a text. I look down and I almost start to cry.

"Hey babe, I think we should hangout sometime. Today was fun, too bad I couldn't go all the way. Next time. ;)"
